at home & at parties using cd's and vinyl... although these days, due to a worrying lack of technics at most parties i play at, most of my vinyl gets burnt to cd anyway.

started mixing with vinyl, but these days i'm using mainly cd's as most of the stuff i'd want to spin doesn't even get released on vinyl nowadays ...

cdjs.... much better sound quality... much easier to carry and way higher availability... plus cdjs can be used outdoors without worrying about dust and stuff....and the new cdj series gives one a lot of options with the jog dials./..although i do dabble with vinyls sometimes.... and am very interested in learning more about traktor...

i only spin at home a little. so far only with vinyl but as soon as i get my damaged cdj repaired, wich will be in about a month when i get a unsual high salary, i will start mixing with cds. i´m really looking forward to it because i have most of my favourite stuff only on cd....

vinyl 100% right now... cd decks when i can get some cash for 'em but i'm in no rush. most of what i play is old school so i don't really have to worry about upgrading or "keeping up with the times". i have a decent amount of gigs in and around toronto - i'm not looking for superstardom so that small number of shows keeps me content. but i tend to think the smartest setup is vinyl and cds for the broad-ranging goa djs, and just cds for people that are only playing new stuff (bah to that!) *wink*

I play CDs at home and at parties. I buy vinyl and CD - the vinyl I burn to CD. I prefer CD because it's lighter, smaller, and the tracks don't wear down. The advantages of vinyl are that it's more physical and the pitch control on turntables is analog [vs the digital of cd decks] so it allows for more accurate mixes. Over all, I'd recommend getting CD decks [Pioneers - anything else is still a waste of money] and a single, simple turntable [you don't need pitch], to record vinyls to CD with.

I used to be a real vinyl-freak and thought cd-mixing wasn't real mixing. And you have to admit, vinyl-mixing looks cooler! ;-))

But now i'm forced to mix cd's too, because many releases only comes on cd. It's not really a problem to me anymore now, cd's have many avantages like the size and weight. The only problem (for me) is i have to invest for a couple of CDJ's ...

I play at home and at parties.

I mainly use cd´s but it does´nt have the charm and effectivity as the vinyl, because when you are making a pitch correction it will always be better to to have it in physical form. Not even the cdj with its jog wheel comes close, because there will always be an delay.

Surely there are some big advanteges in playing cd´s, and with the new cdj 1000

Its almost the same as vinyls, but it´s still digital and does´nt have the soul of the analogue Sound
