good party: better location than amazura, quality decos, nice crowd - little too raverish - but that's expected w/ the bigger parties i guess...cheap water and drinks, non-intrusive security, cool little psychedelic vendors, and the 'open air' chillout provided nice relief

my only qualms were: the sound - a little bit loud in my opinion - it was actually kinda painful to be in the main room, and the bass was literally making my eyes vibrate and my vision all fuzzy - i don't see the need for it to be that loud...there's a lot more to the music than the bass...

also, there was a disturbing smell in the main room - it shouldve been fixed by lighting up some nag champa - loads of it ...but i didnt smell any of that heavenly smell throughout the night...

overall...thumbs up to synth sad - stick with the location, just make some minor adjustments

yeah the party was pretty fun i agree.

the location...well i dont think its really that much better than amazura. if only the security at this place was at amazura, amazura would be great. i did like the outdoor chill out and it was roking once the sun came up. but for 35 bucks..i would like to see an actual bathroom....port-a-potties dont cut it for that price...especialy the very limited amout of port-a-potties they had.

the sound was a bit too loud at first then they took it down...and then it was too quiet..and i agree definately too much base...well actualy not enough high and mids.

all in all a very fun night. cool people cool music....

fun time indeed.

another successfull night for the s-s crew.

anyone going to see i.m. at tsunami?

im not.

I, personally, think the SS parties are nothing special at all. I have stopped attending them, and I don't think I will ever attend again. The sound is always absolute @!#$ at every SS party @ Amazura, especially considering that I have paid $35. The highs and mids are too low, most stereo FX have magicallly become mono, and the bass is too high and very muddy. To make matters worse, they make it so loud that my ears ring for 5-6 days after their parties. What is the need to have it so loud w/ so much bass? Ahh, maybe for all the ravers (and non-ravers) on E ;-)?

I've also run into some reallly shady characters at their parties.

On the plus side, their deco is usually very nice. That's about the only plus I can think of =).

I wish they could have their parties @ Roxy again. The place had a great sound system. And the party I went to there (Absolum & Shive Chandra) was advertised as 21+. That keeps a lot of the idiots away. And at the last minute they changed it to 18+ anyway.

i dont know, but i had a great time at ss this past week. i liked the location better than amazura personally. the crowd was cool, i dont know, i dont really judge people on their character by what style they go for. GMS rocked as well as Liran and Raja Rham. the spot outside was also kicking as the sun came up. i say all around good time. :)

missed this one.. went for the last one, with logic bomb and laughing buddha.. the music was good there, but the spirit was kind of low... so i skipped this one.. must have been a cool party though.. good to hear that the synthetic parties are kicking again...

hey me,

i hear ya man... the sound at ss parties is always too muddy without enough highs and mids..thats a spot on assesment.

and that absolum shiva chandra party at roxy was by far the best synth-sad i have gone too...and ive gone to a lot of em.

but the parties are still always pretty fun so i keep going.

i think the 35 dollar price tag is a little steep though.

well......

im glad you had a good time sthspun...as did i and many people.

but to say that "anyone that bitchesdoesnt understand anything about trance" is a little much.

and just because raja ram said it was the best party hes seen in america.....that doesnt mean it was the best party in america.....far far from it.

all 3 new york s.u.n. project parties ive been to were better..the absolum ss party was way better. the ss party with doof and dragon was better...x dream was better..in fact this ss party wasnt even in the top 10 of ss parties let alone if you add in the tsunami parties the omni tribe parties and the free outdoor parties.

all of last years free outdoor parties (bridge..that field in brooklyn) were better than this ss party was....and if you dont think so..maybe you dont understand as much about trance as you think you do.

the ss party was indeed good...but it wasnt THAT good.
