Ormion
Can you recommended some VST instruments (synths, drums etc.) with sounds great for Goa/Psy? What about Hallion?
Cybernetika
ReFX Vanguard is good for all the leads, you can create sharp and rich sounding psy sounds with it. Linplug Albino 2 is more of an experimentalist. I personally dont like the presets that much, but with a little randomizing, some additional fx and tweaking of all the stuff, it gets the job done for extremely weird FM sounds/ morphing sounds, FX and that kind of stuff. I love to use it in dark psy. Sonicbytes Gat'R ... this one is a gating VST, which works like a charm. rgcaudio z3ta+ .. it has a great sound and lots of possibilities, but I never really fell in love with this one, its too complicated and uses a shitload of cpu power... About Halion, I dont really know it... but it seems to be rather a sampler than a synthie. It can be useful but you gonna need a good synth too. Guest
You can produce excellent psy trance (or pretty much any style of music for that matter) with just about any VST / instrument etc. For psytrance it's important to have acess to lots of filter's like distortion, reverb, LFO, enhancer, delay. The crazier the better, as long as you're program/ equipment can combine fx chains the possiblities are endless.

Shaft
Check out synth1, it's free and fuckin' great. 384667[/snapback] Pity it's not ported to Mac Audio Units. It is one of my favourite VSTs, too bad I write on mac now.

alleycat
Ive found that steinbergs Neon can make some pretty decent basslines, with compression, EQ, and some filters, I usually use at least 2 filters and sometimes an expander. Play around. Never forget the Delay Lama! That ah ah ah and ooeeaaaaaauuuuuuiiiiii are un mistakeable.
