"nu skool" sounds VS old skool sounds

Hi.

"Nu skool" doesn't sound bad but it doesn't appeal to me as much as old skool / goa trance / whatever does...

I kinda miss those typical cheap, dirty and raw old skool sounds.

How do you boys and girls feel about it?

Greets.

i say, i havent heard too many nuskuul producers, but i say they[most, not all] fail because they only copy and are inspired by other artists, theyre creating nothing nu, so i like "oldskuul", and "dirty sounds" - they give this unique touch to the music, this atmosphere ^_^ ...

The oog thing about the early sounds was that it was based a lot of hardware and no so much on computers, therefor having a set template for your sound was not as easy... yes they had thewir own sound, and yes you can often tell who a track was by, but there was a lot more originality.

Today I find so many full on acts in patricular rely way to much on a teplate, especially for their kick and their bass line, and it sounds shit (Isreal, TIP World and cohorts take note). I think the digitalisation of electronic music, the use of computers and programs instead of hardware, is slowly killing our scene... it's very rare to hears something that has that raw and fat sound of realy synthersizers, it sounds cheap and plstic instead, made ina bedroom between dowloading 10 second porn clips... the world of goa is now the world of the dopefiend, semen crusted junkies with no spirit or love.

"I think the reason is, because the technology for creating music developped a lot..."

well the technology for recording has improved alot but i think what passes for a good synth has been greatly reduced. The biggest thing i hear sound wise is that there really arent any great software filters, so you dont have all the crazy tweaky filter cutoff madness going on today like in the older stuff. I think eventually people will rediscover the old synths and start making stuff that sounds different again.
