suggest me some dark psy

so, after some lil discussion in psynews thread abour lsd and darkpsy i decided that id like to get some info on darkpsy now .

so here it goes - please suggest me some gr8 dark psy, psychedelic and trippy, the best you can find. i dont need no "oooooo, sca-a-a-a-a-rrryyy" or "piss in my pants" shallow and childish stuff to scare monkeys, i need...

but, why it is called dark?

for me its psy/goa and thats it . none is better than the other one .

if you ask me ux is defined as:

psychedelic chaotic trance with insanely everchanging transitions.

this whole thing gives a certain taste of darkness in the tracks,different from what you normally define as dark.

the question is what do you consider dark?

I myself like only two dark-psy (in today's meaning) albums:

Grapes of Wrath & Metaloids - Tits on Fire

Deviant Species - In the hand of the Randomiser

 

The first one is typical "noisy random stuff" you'll hear elsewhere (Derango, Para Halu, Kindzadza etc.), but this one somehow fits right in my taste. The second one is a bit minimal, with technoish influences and classical / cinematic atmospheres - great, smooth and scary yet beautiful stuff.

 

I recommend both of them

dark psy, the bass lines are "lower", more minimal, i don't really know technical terms

 

Artifakt - Artifakts (2003) <- south afrikaaaa style

 

Time Lock - 10 Seconds Away (2004) (Electrolite track is among my fav tracks ever)

 

VA - Midnight Storm (2005) (check especially the Artifakt - Retch track on this one, first listen will shock you, second one will make you an addict. Shift - The Face is also good)

 

VA - Moon Unit (2005)

 

Ocelot - VectorSelector (2005) (nice, especially track Snickety Snack, pretty psychedelic)

 

Penta - Funraiser (2005) (Past Holidays is a crazy but funny track, feat. Homer Simpson singing sample)

 

VA - Crazy Goblins And Wicked Pixies (2005) (Claw's track is the best on this compilation)

I checked out a few of the tunes recommended in this thread but I don't think dark psy is quite my cup of tea. A few of the MP3 samples sounded okay but generally I found the style somewhat cold, clinical and minimalist.

 

I prefer multi-layered, organic sounding psy, tunes that somehow feel 'alive'.
