reger Posted November 29, 2005 Share Posted November 29, 2005 so, after some lil discussion in psynews thread abour lsd and darkpsy i decided that id like to get some info on darkpsy now . so here it goes - please suggest me some gr8 dark psy, psychedelic and trippy, the best you can find. i dont need no "oooooo, sca-a-a-a-a-rrryyy" or "piss in my pants" shallow and childish stuff to scare monkeys, i need... you know what i mean ! NOTHING ! except that dark stuff when you look at the universe . no feelings are dark inside of me, the only thing that can be dark is color . as for everything else - no, its just is. ux is a good example - goa/psy trance, and thats it, no need for dark or whatever, i just enjoy them, so . Guest antic Posted November 29, 2005 Share Posted November 29, 2005 I myself like only two dark-psy (in today's meaning) albums: Grapes of Wrath & Metaloids - Tits on Fire Deviant Species - In the hand of the Randomiser The first one is typical "noisy random stuff" you'll hear elsewhere (Derango, Para Halu, Kindzadza etc.), but this one somehow fits right in my taste. The second one is a bit minimal, with technoish influences and classical / cinematic atmospheres - great, smooth and scary yet beautiful stuff. Shift - The Face is also good) VA - Moon Unit (2005) Ocelot - VectorSelector (2005) (nice, especially track Snickety Snack, pretty psychedelic) Penta - Funraiser (2005) (Past Holidays is a crazy but funny track, feat. Homer Simpson singing sample) VA - Crazy Goblins And Wicked Pixies (2005) (Claw's track is the best on this compilation) others have been named already. i'll leave some for when Gnomie comes. he's dark fan. A few of the MP3 samples sounded okay but generally I found the style somewhat cold, clinical and minimalist. I prefer multi-layered, organic sounding psy, tunes that somehow feel 'alive'.
