Sarahti
I speak my honest opinion about this album - I have nothing to gain from trying to boost its sales. I don't work for him and I don't work for the label. Jannis is a friend of mine regardless of how many copies his album sells, and thus our friendship is separate from my appreciation of his music - In fact, we first got to know eachother before his tracks were even remotely releasable. I find it rather annoying that I am not allowed to post positive comments about his tracks simply because we're friends; I provide arguments and reasoning to support my statements, but nevertheless some people, such as you, seem to believe that my opinions are fake simply because I know the guy behind the music. That is bullshit. And f'ing ofcourse I can find something negative about it; such as the kickdrum in track 1 being too compressed or that the remix version of track 6 should have been included instead of the original version; But above I replied to comments made by another used, and in that context I had no reason to start listing my criticism. I criticise Jannis' productions A LOT, which he can tell you himself. If I was an asskisser I strongly doubt we'd be as close as we are. This is a discussion forum, and hence there will be discussions about music. In those, there will be both negative and positive comments. I make absolutely no attempt at hiding the fact that I know Jannis personally - in fact I try to be very open about it, so that my comments about his music won't be misinterpreted as "propaganda" or as an attempt at creating hype. And the "goa guru status"... I've never claimed to be that, those are your words and not mine. If you think I'm not being honest about my opinions, then fine, whatever. But re-read my posts and you will hopefully understand that I am being perfectly honest. I love "Heliopolis", I really do. It's probably the best dance music album I've heard in several years. I would say that even if I had never met or spoken with Jannis, regardless of what you believe. Sorry for the lengthy post, but these accusations make me very upset. 419116[/snapback] Ok ok, I excuse myself... But it's simply the fact that if someone writes something negative I see you are always the first to say how brilliant it is... And because you always say how good friends you are that sounds really subjective to other people, that's all... if you really think Heliopolis is so great... Super then! I will like it too probably as I am a great old school lover... So this was not being meant as a personal attack!

Moai
I thought the new Filteria album would be more original (like experimenting a hell lot more with that awesome kickass studio) and less pleidaians / 97 simulated sound, but i have yet to hear the full album before i can give a more justified comment on this! Surely this would be a "killargh" on the dancefloor, but here's my 2 cents: good points: -better soundquality; -better structured melodies! They didnt sound as "randomized" (sorry) as the old album. the feeling i got from the sample; there was more thought into this one. -its a going back to the roots goatrance influences! not many dare to release it these days! points for our fellow suntrippers and for jannis that wants to create this kind of music. some years ago i really thought that goa was truly dead, but not anymore! less good points: -a matter of personal minus for me is that i dont really like the unsettling feeling of the melodies give me and im not a fan of chaotic stuffs, but i can agree there is tonz of energies there. others may like it alot!! -not original enough for me. Ukiro says its not exactly like pleiadians and i can agree, but i think the sound-design (particularly leads and peaks) are very similar(!) and not used in an original way enough.. sorry! Okay i can agree i have made stuff myself that have the pleiadians/etnica "sound" but finally i get tired of it. ^^ it will be interesting to hear the full album! the thing im mostly curious about is the way u built up the tracks! :] good luck jannis! i hope only to give constructive critisism to help your musicmaking / and my personal thoughts if i have the rights to ventilate them, and ukiro, you can post a traditional reply of my post below

Jon Cocco
Oh.. Too late now, but this thread should have been titled Filteria: Heliopolis... (add whatever else) ... because I just posted a link in the general forums this same date I'm posting this. I was completely unaware of this or any thread existing until now... Hmm... I wasn't aware that Heliopolis was the title of the second Filteria album, so I totally overlooked it.
