ukiro Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 I was just listening to Visitors - "Tiny Little Engines". Pretty damn unique. Overall I think psy trance needs to experiment more again - song structures, keys, sounds, mixing - all of these are way too standardized right now. You don't absolutely need a sharp attack on the kick, you don't need a 16th note bassline, you don't need to separate each sound in the mix, you don't need to use the same presets everyone else has. If some of the big producers would start focusing on making mind-altering music rather than following the psy-trance dogma, I think this music could reach a broader audience once again, like it did in 1996. Dragonflier Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 Nobody mentioned Eat Static?? Shame on you people! IMO all of Eat Static's stuff is pretty unique, especially the early stuff of course. The Alien EPs, Abduction, Implant, Science of The Gods and Epsylon are all pure genius. Quote
