Guest mindbender
Ok, the topic says it all... But in any case, I've been very pissed off for years for vinyl ablums/comps having fewer tracks than the CDs. Why do they do this? For example (one of many, many, many labels), Spirit Zone tends to release 6 track vinyl "albums" while the CD will have like 8-9 tracks. They are still using 2 vinyls to do this, why not just simply fill them in? You can fit nicely 4 tracks per vinyl, while 5 is admittedly crowded. So why put on 3 tracks?!? It can't be any cheaper, it only pisses off more. I'd even rather have something like Eat Statics In the Nude -style, where they had 5 vinyls with 11 tracks, but costing 5/3 of normal price. It was not ideal (which is 2 or 3 vinyls with all tracks and at normal price) but it was better than having 6/8 tracks or so... Why are vinyl collectors being continually pissed on? In these times of CD-R's, I would see also a good economic sense in making full vinyl albums! Any (label) people with real knowledge about this, please reply... Guest opul
they usually release 12" with 2-3 tracks a while before the album gets released, so why should they release the same tracks on vinyl twice :-)
Guest Raider
The more space you use on a vinyl, the higher the quality of the sound is! That's why the sound on EP is usually higher than LP's...
Guest Adz Om
yes this annoys me to. i think 2 tracks a side is the most you should have at all because the tracks become to low in volume. im thinking of maybe now only buying singles on vinyl and later albums on cd. bom Adz Om
Guest akira
mindbender...because they release the best tracks seperately as singles so they can make more money from us.
