mp3s contain hidden strings (ID3 tag) with several pieces of information on the track..provided you fill them. so you can have a FILE title different from the TAG title.

btw this is the last time i answer mp3 questions. please read the thread about that above this one in the list

This system works just like the CDDB-plugin in Winamp (when playing cd's). The program reads unique data from the cd and sends a query to the database on internet. As a reply on the query the database sends back the cd-data like title and tracknames.

This system works perfect ... at least on the CDDB system i know (the cd-player of windows uses a seperate system provided by Miscrosoft, so not CDDB). So you can blame M$ ;-))) ... or it's just a data-entry error. These databases are data-entried by normal people who can make mistakes ... just like us. :-)

Maybe you should try another cd-player who queries CDDB-databases. Winamp 2.80 can also play cd's and uses CDDB ... Download it at www.winamp.com
