Shaft
Well I think that Entheogenic's Spontaneous Illumination is the best psychill album for your taste. Floaty, lush, tribal drums and chants... Extremely nice album As for 'real' ambient I'm not too experienced there, maybe someone else can enlighten you. Bahamut
Hmm, I suggest to check out this typical all owning "you cannot miss it and it's not hard to begin with" type of track Robert Rich - The Other Side of Twilight.
qa2pir
Try the project "Dark Side of the Moog" by Pete Namlook & Klaus Schulze. It's a series with 10 parts. I recommend part 9, it has some drumwork and beautifu´l melodies. Also try Steve Roach & Vir Unis - Bloodmachine with extremely detailed textures and very visual music. Time_Trap
Tom Heasley - Desert Triptych [ http://sonic-energy.net/smf/index.php?topic=609.0 ] (beatless ) some nice one with impressive [real, recorded of course] percussions and a rather tribalistic feeling: Steve_Roach_And_Jeffrey_Fayman_-_Trance_Spirits-2002
Otto Matta
If you're looking for "real" ambient, Biosphere is a great place to start (Substrata is possibly the best ambient album ever made). Also check out Brian Eno's seminal Ambient 4: On Land. Otherwise, Shaft's recommendations are very good for psy-ambient. Ultimae is a fantastic label.
