Guest 1
"that WE would NOT like to be charged for what YOU say here. ok ?" (mp3 lecture: PRECISION ABOUT FILE SHARING & MP3 ) - mars -wow, that is a very disturbing idea. Being charged money for what you say. Who charges people money for what they say? as far as i know not even the US government does that yet... Seriously WHO does that in western society? If there is an entity that does then start taking some political aciton and change it. This fourm is ____ .. nothing to write home about. now ai'm going to lecture: you anti mp3 people are just good samaritan patriots trying to kiss artist/record company ass, and i dunno why... I guess you think your a kind of authority, so you're going to act like one? Odd self-image... hows that for mind expansion? open? I'm begining to think that the this music has no personality or wisdom... I'm probably just deledued from surfing this site (4 about 5 minutes a month) though... the reviews are all personal and tacky... the posts are about how bad one group is and how upright another is... and blah blah cursing and bikering back to forth. I bet if I went to a HIP HOP fourm i'd be seeing people "keeping it real" and allot less stressed out and retindent behaviour than most of the posters here. All of you need to SMOKE MORE WEED. =) I mean really what happend to the PLUR i hope thats still in style. Cuz when that decays there will be nothing left exept a bunch of empty exahusted tapestries and black lights. This synergy of people need to revitalize the sprit of goa. PLUR is very hard to do but it's not so hard behind a computer or at a party so.... try harder. i'd love to see this fourm a whirlpool of good vibes just like the whole world should be and like good parties are. I used to be a regular but the vibe was so deevolutionary and tormented me even when i was away that i had to stop! We need all a little more tolerance. and allot more plur. I'm done now go get stoned and DON'T drink alcohol.
Guest JanUa
we have a nice family here, i like it for some reason, and there is enough respect around, after every discusion comes peace, forum is all about unity, and love, well some people actually 'love' eachother for who they are. think you should spent some more time than just 5 minutes each month reading the forum and than make some conclusion ... by the way ... why post this ??? ... very plurlike, i don't need you to lecture. on the other hand i respect mars lecture cause i know what he means with it and why he did it. plur
Guest Mike D
Oh my god you are blind! Kiss the record companies are and the artist arse?? No, I want to give my oney to those who work hard and deserve it, they are doing a job, probably harder than you ever do.. and by the way, don't you know that weed makes you aggravated and aggressive??? Common knowledge, ask any doctor or psychiatrist. Go get a life, and get some respect for yourself so you can then respect others. Guest Sienis
i think you´re right about some things you say....like that people get hung up on too many little things instead of just spreading more LOVE! it´s not really that hard to do that.....just put away your EGO and try to understand why people act a certain way..... there´s always a reason! i believe all human kind is really wondeful and loving but it´s all about how they grow up that molds a person.....and once they have been molded they´re very protective of their ways and will not easily let anyone give them advice or directions ´couse that´d mean that all their life they´ve done 'wrong'. everyone wants to feel special and stand out....even if that means they have to hurt or insult people. i myself got some things too i want to change about myself that i´ve notised after people have mentioned it to me many times... everybody needs attention...my advice is: go to the nearest forest and gain your energy there...don´t drain other people off their energy. i´ve seen it proven to me so many times when you share conditionless LOVE it always comes back to you 10 times.... =) i hope you all a good life and awakening....that´s what i´m trying to head for BoM! LOVE TO YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!! =D
Guest adamFACE
ok peeps, some musical artists actually have talent and do work hard, their cd's and things should be bought because that is their source of income..in my opinion, pop culture crap that is nothing but a pretty face, a nice ass and completeproduct should not be bought..now if you are an independant artist its a whole different medium, most independant artists cannot be self sufficent with their music because they lack the power and influence of mainstream commercial music, so there are valid reasons to buy some artists cds, and thats so they have income and can then produce more music.. just make thoughtfull decisions.. adam
Guest bugbread
Uh, l, I think the comment about "charged" refers to "charged with committing a crime", not "charged money". In France (and probably some other countries), you can be held responsible for what appears on your homepage, even if you didn't actually post it. Since you are responsible for running the homepage, you are held responsible for what's on it. Currently, most of the mp3 discussion is general (i.e. "What program should I use", or "Is mp3 downloading good or bad"). Legally, this is OK. But if people get carried away and start advertising "my ftp server with 20 gigs of bootleg mp3s!", then it is illegal, just like "email me at ***@XXX.UUU.com and I'll sell you some kick-ass LSD!" would be. As far as anti-mp3 people kissing ass: a few are, but the vast majority just believe in paying artists for the work they do. Even if you disagree, I would hope that you can see that point. I downloaded the entire Shulman album from Audiogalaxy. It was so good, I went out and purchased the CD. It annoys me that some dumb-ass record exec got money that way, but it pleases me much more that Shulman got some of my money. I don't think of it as "kicking ass" so much as saying "thank you". Maybe if enough people buy an album, the record company will release his next album. If nobody buys it, then the record company definitely will not release it. I'm not trying to convince you that mp3s are bad. Hell, I downloaded a huge amount from AG, and probably made lifelong enemies with EP (or, at least, I would if he knew how much I downloaded). And yet I also bought CDs, and am going to see Mr. Peculiar and Benza tonight (whom I learned about through AG). Yet I understand the position of the anti-mp3 folks (er, except maybe MikeD's religious approach to the issue). All I'm saying is that, if you actually read what the anti-mp3 folks say, you'll see that for the most part it is NOT kissing ass, but a valid if not 100% correct viewpoint. As for PLUR: well, there are some non-plurry folks, but so many more PLURRY types. Even for discussions like the oa-vs-EP threads, there is *generally* a sense of plur. If it weren't for that, I probably wouldn't visit, but as a relatively long-time reader, I know whose posts to read and whose to skip, and most of the regulars are pretty straight-up types. By the way, general advice to people who feel that there is too little PLUR here: don't read every thread! I used to, and I got overwhelmed by the "non-PLURity" of the place. Then I made a few rules for myself: Don't read articles about the American government (people have good opinions, but tensions get too fiery) Don't read articles about Israel (same as above) Don't read articles about MP3s (I have recently because of AG closing down, though) Don't read articles titled "<> sucks!" Don't read articles with the word "minimal" or "full-on" in the title. If someone has a good comment about the new Son Kite album, they will probably call the thread "Son Kite's rhythm structure", not "Son Kite - Minimal Forever!!". Putting "Minimal", "Full-On", or "Old-Skool" in the title usually just indicates someone is looking for a fight. After chopping those out, what you're left with is a pretty good friendly forum.
