qa2pir
You're right, the structures of Oforia's "Delirious" reminds a lot of modern full-on, with those riffs rather than melodies and sounds floating on top. I for one think the track "Malaka Dance" by Transwave sounds pretty full-on, atleast before the bassline starts using more than 1 note. Transwave got very unpopular in Greece because of the track title. Our T-shirts was "sold-out" (we did not sell them) in a matter of minutes at a party where we brough 250 t-shirts

dmtree
3D Vision was putting out quality dark full-onish style music around '99.. but X-Dream - Radio probably started it all, imo - early Skazi was influenced by it for sure..
Otto Matta
There were some stuff with the full on-ish bassline sound and the screechy leads popping up in 1997/1998 - wether or not it qualifies as "full on" is difficult to say though. I don't think it had those super-annoying mini breaks with the reverse kicks =) I think there was something on Phantasm and possibly some Transient release in 1997 with this sound... but it's monday morning so my mind isn't really working. And I'm not at home so I can't check. The Etnica track "Full On" came out in early 1996 but has nothing in common with the sub-genre "full on". Koxbox' "Fuel On" also came out in 1996. So the term was used back then, but not to describe the same thing as now. 416531[/snapback] Does anyone else remember when "full-on" meant something totally different to what it means today? Back in the day it meant, essentially, a really good, really layered, really powerful track. Alcyone was considered "full-on", for example, as was stuff like UX. Filteria, for instance, is all about the old definition of full-on. Will the definition change again to mean something else in five years? Curious. As far as today's definition is concerned, I'd definitely have to say GMS was the father of that one.
Cinos
Didn't Astrix at least popularize the genre?
