Otto Matta Posted June 24, 2002 Posted June 24, 2002 Just dug this one out, dusted it off and gave it a good listen. Amazing stuff. Some of the tracks sound like they could've been on Ultimate Experience. Edgy, twisted and intense with a very satisfying abundance of transitions. Quote
Otto Matta Posted June 24, 2002 Posted June 24, 2002 And when I say "underrated," I mean I don't hear this one talked about much at all, and am surprised by that. Quote
Guest phaeton Posted June 24, 2002 Posted June 24, 2002 yups, i agree .. it's a very cool and twisted album it isn't such a coincidence that it reminds you of ultimate experience, because pete martin (slide) was involved in ux as well .. but i guess you probably already knew that anyway, i wouldn't know if it's underrated because most of the people who have heard it seem to like it a lot too, but it's definitely overlooked yeah Quote
khogg Posted June 24, 2002 Posted June 24, 2002 It is a good album with a few pretty cool tracks, but on the whole it was never my favorite Cd. 2274! Quote
Guest stompie Posted June 24, 2002 Posted June 24, 2002 yyyeeeehhhaaaaahhhhh! i love slide - unstable - totaly amazing - this cd was very popular in south africa - a funkadelik bashing of the brian - such an amazing balance of tracks - and way ahead of its time in terms of the style (of some of the tracks), the dance mechanisms, and the production amazing - if you haven't heard it then you should - in my opinion it has helped shape the direction for a lot of the modern stuff Quote
Basilisk Posted June 25, 2002 Posted June 25, 2002 i'm not sure if the style and technique was ever successfully revisited... it remains a unique artifact for seekers of good music to find... excellent stuff Quote
Guest stmopie Posted June 25, 2002 Posted June 25, 2002 well hey.. - it has influenced my music a whole load - whether you can hear that or not, i can't be the judge - but anyway - slide rocks Quote
