Although I love Jake Stephenson's (R.I.P.) ambient works I never really liked his dance tracks (exceptions are Shamanic Tribes On Acid-Omnifarios Splifferous, Symbiotic-Forces Of Technology, Super Skunk-Marijuana Haze)

Especially the STOA tracks sounded always bad to my ears (except the track I mentioned). But a few days ago I bought a comp with a STOA track called Speed Freaker. I already had this track and it was a crap, but now listen to it again I can that it's ok and different. This is sick! The melodies are really good and the only bad thing (at least to me) is the drum programming. Then I listen again to all the STOA tracks I've got and some of them sound better now to my ears. So what ya think?

I have Acid Apocalypse album.

Good points:

Acid

Krazy Style

Bad points:

outdated sound, album doesnt have much variation and gets boring, at some parts melodies are overused.

I would add it ti the good points. I love this old rusty sound.  :)

I also like raw sound, for example Orichalcum - Orichalcum & The Deviant but I find that Shamanic Tribes On Acid - Acid Apocalypse was poor production/mastering-wise, even for its time...
