Guest Gorgonator
To all the people bragging about how "BIG" there collection is I would love to know how "big" is your "REAL COLLECTION" ie ORIGINALS. Iv been into electronica since around 1984 covering everything from early Hi NRG & U.S house to Acid house, Belgian newbeat, Euro trance and all the latest psy, hard & club trance, Hard house & Hard Nrg. My collection consists of over 2000 cd's & 1500 vinyl 12"s. All originals, I have a few copies as well but most of these are due to not being able to get hold of the originals. ( Not all thou everyone has some copies from trading with there mates and we are talking of only around 20 or so cds at the most ). I make major sacrifices to buy my music, such as no holidays and many a night in. My mates say they can't afford to buy originals but at the same time they spend £50-100 every week on pubs and clubs e.t.c. Its all about how much you love the music really and to all those who snub this post and say they download because they can't afford to buy, my answer is simple if you can afford a computer and fast internet connection then you have no excuses. Based on my age I have averaged approximately 2 cds and 1/2 records every week since I started my collection. Anyway im off to the Glastonbury festival tonight should be an awesome few days and to everyone reading this post have a great weekend whatever you are doing !! Peace !! Guess my age and win a free cd of your choice from my collection. You must state the age in years and months. ( To be fair as in years only would make it to easy ) Only one guess per person thou and only ONE winner who will be the first person to get it right. Good luck and this is a genuine comp, I will pay for the cd and postage ! I won't be back here until tuesday july 1st so try and keep this post bumped and ill check it when I get back. Otto Matta
3500 albums / 1.5 albums a week = 2333 weeks = 45 years 2002 - 1985 = 17 17 - number of years it would take to get interested in electronica = 12 12 + enough money to start buying CDs = 15 45 years + 15 = 60 60 - bad spelling = 25 25 + apology for bad spelling = 30 30 - bragging about size of collection = 20 20 + willing to give away a CD of someone's choice = 25 25 + having to guess the amount of months = 27-1/2 27-1/2 +/- "Bom Shanker" = 32-1/2 or 22-1/2 "My mates...spend £50-100 every week on pubs and clubs e.t.c." = approx. 25 - 30 y.o. Average of 32.5, 22.5, 25 and 30 = 27.5 That's my guess - *27 years, 6 months*

Guest goa tacks
sounds like it will take so much space. Sounds like some person describing how many dress or shoes they have. Sounds like a capitalist to me. then after you finish this life, you can not bring with your energy. I can only listen one song for a moment now. That's enough satisfuction for me. Oh by the way goa used to be all copies of DAT in a early days.

Guest mark alien
he ... trancer you are born in 83 and start collecting goa in 1994 ??? that mean you start listening and buying goa trance at 11 years old !!! that's young or is it me ??? Guest trancer
hey Mark..yeah it is pretty young i guess..but i hated, or no hated is such a strong word. I disliked that everyone was listeing to the same music. Wherever i went i heard the same tracks... The destroyd the tracks because they played them so much. I was into euro-disco like ICE-MC, Basic Element, DJ Bobo and stuff like that (STOP LAUGHING!!! hehe). Anyway i got sick of hearing same shit and wanted to listen to something new...so i went to a regular store and found Concept In Dance 1.. I held it and got amazed by all the colours...without listening or even knowing what it was, i bought it...one of my best choices in life...When i heard Man With No Name's Voices i couldn't understand what was happening...damn, those were the days.. BOM!

Guest Daan
if you really love the music, you go out and dance to it as much as you can. thats what i do anyway. :-) my guess is that you are 13 years old. enjoy the festival, man!
Otto Matta
Shit, I had three albums when I was 11: The soundtrack to Black Hole, the Bee Gees' Spirits Having Flown and Abba's The Visitors. I started buying music for real when I was something like 15 or 16. 11 is especially young to get into a particularly obscure style, but there's nothing wrong with that. Instead, I think it's cool as hell. You go, trancer!

Guest --==MileS==--
Nice...nice... but what is your collection worth within 10 years when your taste probably changed...I've been collecting CDs since I was 15 and in every music phase I bought almost everything that was released...So i ended up with 150 vague heavy metal CDs that I kinda hate now...I don't play em anymore and they are collecting dust...but they cost me 18-20 € a piece...I gave most of it away for free ... Already my psytrance collection means little to me as I drift more and more into ambient...I regret buying most stuff in 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001...Thank God some German techno DJ that started to like Psytrance was interested in most of it (thnx to the oakenfield bootleg of Voyage into trance heheh) and I could sell around 200 psycds at a reasonable price (around 500 €)...I kept around 25 classics (can't live without IFO, Spiritual Healing, Twisted, Violent Relaxation, Lets Turn On, Anno Domini, the Gathering, Beyond the Mask, Beam me Up, Multimoods ea) and all psyambient ... I only buy stuff now when I have tested the MP3s thoroughly and with the current state of affairs that means about 3 purchased psyCDs in 3 months (Entheogenic, the excellent Electric Universe and Zen Lemonade)...I am glad I changed my buying habits... I am not buying more stuff because I can't afford it...I can...but I rather spent my money elsewhere as I know most recent psytrance CDs will mean nothing to me in a year of 2...Thank God, the latest X-Dream, Talamasca, Logic Bomb, human blue, saiko pod, Space Cat and GMS are not in my collection as after a few MP3 spins I got sick of 'em already...Whereas 2 years ago I would have bought 'em blindly... Originals rule indeed but its the 10% with replay value that is worth owning...the other 90% irritates me more than it gives me pleasure...
