vancbc Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 ......I can never get the damn search function to work for me. There have been some recent threads on ambient music, but I don't think I'm quite looking for ambient....at least not the relatively beatless, spacey, random-sounds, swirly synth type music. I need more downtempo/chill. I have the following albums: The Infinity Project - Mystical Experiences Ott - Blumenkraft Entheogenic - Dialogue of the Speakers Shpongle Younger Brother - A Flock of Bleeps More recommendations down the same line? Your help is greatly appreciated. Quote
phobium Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 Shulman of course, his two first albums are great, third one being released tomorrow. Also VA - Natural born chillers (aleph zero records) and the chill compilations from peak records are worth checking out. Quote
Shaft Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 Sure! Abakus - That Much Closer To The Sun Asura - Lost Eden Capsula - Synthesis of Reality Celtic Cross - Hicksville Entheogenic - Spontaneous Illumination Phutureprimitive - Sub Conscious V/A - Quality Relaxation Quote
Bahamut Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 There's now a 2 CD version of Global Communication - 76:14. CD1 is the original remastered and CD2 has singles and bonus tracks. This would be my definition of chillout music. Quote

Bahamut Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 A masterpiece indeed. But I guess it must be a very subtle remaster because the original already sounds awesome?! Quote
panda-hugger Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 You might like - Khumba Mela Experiment 'East of the river Ganges' or Dub Trees 'Nature never did betray...' (LSD-liquid sound design) from a few years ago. Quote

vancbc Posted February 20, 2006 Author Posted February 20, 2006 Thanks for the replies so far. Some good material to work with here. Quote
furthur Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Reading your list, two names popped into my head, Phutureprimitive, in relation to your liking Shpognle, but he's already mentioned. In relation to Ott, Androcell. Now, no flaming, I know it is very different, but there is also a somewhat similar feel to their pieces. Quote
Otto Matta Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Bluetech is really good along those lines. Quote

Icarus Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 The new shulman is awesome imo. Everyone should buy it. I know i will. Quote
phobium Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Bola - Fyuti <- also a very good album. Check out some other Bola stuff as well, but that tends to be a bit more on the IDM side. Quote

But if you want to start getting into this territory, there are far better purchases. Casino Versus Japan, Ochre, Isan, Arovane... Quote
sherlockalien Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 appart from the ones people said, I would add: Kaya Project (both cds) and VA - Butterfly Dawn Quote
