Guest Cosmogenesis Posted February 21, 2006 Share Posted February 21, 2006 In the past years, I have listened some free trance tracks (goa, psy, ambient, drum'n' bass) from a website called "cygnetic records" (don't make the confusion with synergetic records). There was a lot of good artists, like Imperial Project, Atypus, Abaris, Overmind Projection, but you have noticed that they are imitations of well-know goatrance artists. However, I remember very powerfull tracks, maybe with a little repetitive beat, but with great atmospheres. Since 2004, any news about this project. What are these guys doing now? Guest Cosmogenesis Posted May 24, 2006 Share Posted May 24, 2006 Cygnetic records site was closed at the end of 2004. They have given a lot of psy/goa & ambient tracks for free during 6 or 7 years. Goa syndrome was the name of a team of goa artists and also for a serie of compilations. Some of the artists' names were imitation of well-known psyartist legends: overmind projection, imperial project; the same case for the track's name: vimana, metamorphosis,... Their goa tracks were very good, very energetic, with some interesting sound FX and nice melodies, and near the hardcore genre for some of them, maybe a bit too repetitive in their structure though. IMO, they deserved at that time to release their stuff instead of giving them for free. A few tracks of them are still available here (it's a legal site). Gaia Spirits album and I have most of their tracks, except Flying Saucers, Parallel World and Acts of Violence from Remote Viewing album and Vimana, Boiling in Acid, Meeting@Infinity, Dubay and Life Force from Vimana. Anybody have these? I've been looking for them on P2Ps but haven't found them. Also I can ask to Simon "Alienxss" who was part of this net-label and will take part of our upcoming metapsychic VA/, if some of their old releases can be available again, like those old Cygnet albums. The first albums of the "Cygnet" project were released by Zyx, but then they gave them for free if I remember well a few years later. I'll speak with Simon "Alienxss" and try to bring him on the forum with other former cygnetic artists, but I'm not sure he's still in touch with them. I know that Simon is selling his old cygnetic tracks of his artist project on soundclick under his new alias, "Alienxss", so we'll see what they can do.
