Guest Red Headed Stepchild
I have just found Alien Protein and what an album. This stuff just blows my mind. I have owned both Equator and Nitrox for awhile and I think those two albums are true masterpieces as well. So it makes me think how can anybody say that Equator or Nitrox suck but Alien Protein is one of the best albums ever. True it is one of the best works but so are the other two. One doesn't need to belittle one thing a group does to make something else seem great. All the true master artists can do master work many times. I think they tend to change but that is just because they want to explore new areas. Maybe I will come to love Alien Protein the most but it will only be to a small degree above Equator and Nitrox. I bet that when I buy Crome that it will be very good as well. HELL YES I FOUND ALIEN PROTEIN. I think I am very lucky for many people haven't found it yet. Well Peace till next time. Järsimähäiriö
Oddly enough, Finland seems to be about the only country where Alien Protein still is widely and readily available. Yes indeed, great stuff (although some tracks clearly show their age... logically enough) and I like it much better than Equator. Nitrox is so different that they don't really compare, I quite like it too.

Guest Inu
Equator is better IMO... I loved Alien P. but it gets old after 10 or 20 listens. Still a great album!
Guest DBB
I own 2 copies of the original alien protein!!
Guest trancer
I have also 2 copies of the original..the vinyl and the CD..and i had 2 copies of the juggeling Alchemist as well but sold one.. I think the old etnica is better and more intressting then the new one..however etnica are better producers these days..if you check out their Slow tracks the drum-programming is AMAZING..sounds like a real drummer...Anyway, Etnica is a band with always new ideas and exploring new areas...I hope they will make music forever.. ETNICA FOREVER!!! BOM!
Guest The Broken Engine
I've just bought Plastic EP & CHrome Japanese Edition, so my Etnica/Pleaidians/CropCircles collection in original version now is complete (except for SouthAfrica2000 that i will buy when Chrome Western Ed. is out, hopefully this summer, and the vinyl 12") imho Alien is their best full prod. for their first period, but recently i'm totally drawning in their recent beats (Chrome is a virus, "Something's wrong" owns me, "Slow Motion" is a starry breath, "Delirium" is a delirium) Listening to the new stuff waiting for some signals of their old stuff is futile! New Etnica! New Beat! New sound research! Timbrical Richness! Undoubtedly our loved duo is affirming themselves as trance masters I love you, M&M (not the little chocolates ) TBE
Guest Pam-Pam-Pam-Ram
Obli and all shud fuck up ,besides the story of etnica ends somewhere with IFO thats bullshit about good production and shit, that tendency and "love" or need for better production killed the spirit and enthusiasm, now its just fucking top notch pointless production. look at the music, listen the music, there is less and less music. of course thats what i feel and say. i dont care almost of anything in todays psy trance world...boring and idiots are running labels (not all),ego everywhere and shit. i'm closing the circle of etnica. just found a good guy that will give it to me juggeling alchemists and thats it. i have all of them till nitrox (including). i wont bother with the latest as it is not etnica i know. and besides who needs anything more from psy world after IFO? and stop the top notch production shit, cause if you try to add lets say some of it to IFO then you lose the power and the psychedelia and the music and everything that IFO is bringing with it...thats what has happened with many of the artists and its not duo...they were four when they did the HUGE...the 4 did the history enough bla bla of me
Basilisk
what i want to know is why no one trys something like IFO but with high modern production value?
Guest Adz Om
first Etnica album i bought was Equator and i love it! Nitrox i bought but i dont really like it, too minimal for my tastes. anyone know if the track, Vimana was released on cd?
Guest The Broken Engine
To Adz Om: Yep! Vimana was released on Plastic EP CD. To Pam-Pam-Pam-Pam: Karkitt!!!! ;P Eheheh!!! I think you gave up too early, dude. you're boring of the scene now as most of ppl around. But in any case you speak of the era of 4 members Etnica.... IFO is unreachable for powerfullness... but memories bring you ineluctable to tears and make ppl precociously old. Etnica now are a duo! This is the fact! You have only to hate or love it! Ok! Let's take away the production/skill speeches. You say new Etnica are unable to create crazyness&psychedelic feelings inside you, at least no more. But life is so, in every single aspect of it. It's impossible to re-create every day the usual loved first impression you received! Those incredible and unforgettable moments of perfect feeling (the feeling to be alive, to be present, "hic et nunc") in your life (the first meeting with your future gf/bf; a quick but passionate night with a new person; the fashination of a perfect party; or the end of it, when you rest your body enchanted at the dawn; and so on..) return no more... at least not in the same intensity or in the same percepition...... but this aspect of life don't have to throw you in a black well in other words - because my english sucks at all - : don't live with or for memories, searching always and always the same past good experiences. ok! i think that's enough for now.... p.s. - that remix is actually not so bad as i told you in the first time
Otto Matta
I agree that Equator is their best. Alien Protein has some high-energy tunes, but it's amateurish in my opinion. The original Trip Tonite, for instance, has some big musical flaws in it that make me cringe. And yeah, Nitrox, although it has a few nice tracks, doesn't live up to the creativity on Equator. Guest trancer
Etnica is always is etnica...if you listen to Small Doses you can hear it's etnica..the same goes for the 5 tones...the thing is that etnica have made music since 1992..if you are making the same music for 10 years then you might get bored...if you like old etnica try to fins dome unreleased from The IFO time..i have plenty of them and they kick ass... to pam-pam: it was not the top-production talk that killed the music. we got in a new Era of musictechnology that's why everything sounds "better" now. And i believe the reason why so many started with dark music is X-Dream's Radio CD...But X-Dream know how to make dark music unfortnetly the rest of the psy-community don't have a clue..everybody is a producer these days... About the production i was talking about: many softsynths that sound good..the whole synthmarket was expanding..Nordlead, Virus, Roland JP-8000 and Waldorf..better sounds and they all use midi... I think Etnica/pleiadians got better with production from Family of light and Equator..you can hear that and still the spirit was not lost... if you ask me: the spirit is still there... One question to pam-pam..do you have Fluorophilia?? BOM!!
Guest Pam-Pam :)
ok, so I am now Pam-pam ))) anyway, I agree about X-Dream. but I think that exactly top-production is what we didnt have in this music back in the days and yet no one whined, it was wonderful. it was about best melody and great "goa trance" tracks.. energy, ethusiasm and fuck wonderful time. I dont whine,I just wanna underline how I see it. now once that level was reached to say so, what was the logical progress from here? bullshit I respect simon p. alot for his stand that he is not motivated and dont have good material for a hallucinogen album and he sees more inspiration and possibilities in ambient/chill/dowtempo stuff. though the demand for hallucinogen album is huge but he is not keen to release an album just to satisfy the demand with already seen material. on the other hand i dont really accept his point with their decision to change the logo.... now,i'm aware etnica have been producing music since god knows when, as a matter of fact i have 3 very old tracks from vinyl, from 92 or 93 and they are clearly pre-juggeling alchemist tracks. what i want to say is that i'm only sick of hearing/reading about better production and etc...when you make techno-trance or progressive, its far easier to build tracks which sounds better as a whole (has better production) cause its easier to handle track w/o melodies and acid line and 303 and 909 and what else there is..808 604 TBE: what i wanted to say is that,at least for me, now the existance of etnica is just perhaps a need for money, and using the reputation for the same thing. i know they are 2 now. yes i'm definitely searching for new stuff that might be the next big thing for me as it was "goa trance" 5-6 years ago.... about the rmx, well, would be much better if I can (dis)agree with you, but until I find it (if so).. trancer: good question. I feel sometimes its just impossible and beyond the reach of my hands.... so this means i dont have it....if you have anything maybe, then perhaps I should email-you? Guest pam pam
question to valerio: did you ask them about releasing their unreleased album on blueroom?
Guest trancer
to valerio: what do you mean by digipack version? (i have a feeling that this question is soooooooo stupid) =) to Pam pam: when i talked to Max he told me they were going to release the stuff on mp3.com..by the stuff i mean crop circles-tetrahedron and etnica-flurophilia..and some other stuff cause there are soooo many live and unreleased...unfortnently they thought later on that mp3 wasn't good enough..bad quality and so on..so my guess is that they will released the stuff on their label etnicanet...but i am gonna ask Max this next weekend.. And pam pam i've emailed you.. BOM!
Guest jonathan
what about Chrome?
Otto Matta
Interesting, Jonathan. I think it's a interesting sign of Etnica's flagging development that no one mentioned Chrome. I used to be a big Etnica fan but I have completely lost interest in them after Nitrox. I get the feeling I'm not alone.
