I have to give a couple of revisions on some thoughts about a couple of albums. At first, I was not impressed with Pleiadians:Family of Light, and Infected Mushroom:B.P. Empire. But after listening to both albums a couple of times now, I must say that both albums are pure genius. Particularly B.P. Empire. It is remarkable. Once I finally got what the album was trying to do, the genius of the album became evident. The structure of the tracks, the subtleties, and the complexities are all remarkable. Family of Light is also excellent. So much going on in the background, the production is so smooth, and the tracks are so well thought out. I like the how both albums are so different. They tracks, and the concepts as to what the tracks are trying to accomplish, are very different, coming out of left field so to say. Wonderful stuff. Also, I just got KoxBox:The Great Unknown, and wow!! The reviews were all dead on, mature psychedelia! Logic Bomb:Unlimited is also great! Very mature as well. Little unhappy with MFG:The Message.....the production doesn't seem so great, and some of the tracks are a bit boring, but I have only listened to the beginning parts of the album so far, maybe the rest will get better. What do you guys and girls think of GMS:No Rules.......I am getting GMS vs. Systembusters, because I know it was highly regarded, but I am wondering about GMS in general. What are your thoughts my friends ?

Hello friend

GMS. Well for me it was a case of, didn't buy any of their previous stuff, and so thought I might as well give No Rules a go. I dig it. Good album. I think this is what you're looking for, after what I've read above.

Some very classic stuff, and some very intelligent stuff. Go buy it, have a doob and fall in love.

Even more psychedelic ; )

I'd say that GMS lack that depth you've found and appreciated in the other albums - their stuff is like fast food I always thought, nice and satisfying while you're there enjoying it, but leaving you no nutritional value in the long run... you might like some of the stuff on Demon Tea or Exogenic, plenty of depth in those releases...

hm.. if u continue to listen to mfg:s the message album, i am sure u will understand it. its beautiful!

with time mfg have matured. and so has their music. ok, the album doesnt have those 10/10 songs, with raw christalclear psychedelic melodies that u go crazy to, but it is indeed a masterpiece..

listen to the album from beginning to end a couple of times :}

Hey Stringtheory, glad to hear that B.P. Empire has now impressed you after a few listens. I think that if you are not expecting it to be really similar to their previous albums and you are just open to a new experience then sooner or later it makes sense to you. I also am glad that you have a higher opinion of I.F.O. That album is a classic and is one of my personal favorites. The Great Unknown is another favorite of mine and I always wondered about some of the negative reviews. Oh well, everyone is entitled to their opinion but I love the maturity and smoothness of that album. Anyway, I am just glad to hear that you are enjoying this wonderful music!

Its strange but what I play most nowadays is plain old school stuff...that somehow aged beautifully...The old Doof, Pleiadians, GNotR, TIP, Celtic Cross etc. No surprise that there is a serious hunt for old skool classix nowadays...Its more fun than buying bland new releases imo...

GMS is beneath my tolerance level and so is BP Empire...I can't get into that anymore..it bores me after a few listens...I tried but give me the Gathering anytime...Progress is nice but not if the good elements are removed and stuff that everybody is doing is added imo. 2 many releases nowadays are instant food for the dancefloor with hardly any depth or replayability (can u hear me, Talamasca?)

There are 2 tracks on the The Message album that are truly excellent imo...Have a Nice Day and Dark Waters (bril.....) The rest is okay but those 2, wow...

My advice, dig into the Goa history and pick up the albums that matter, if you can find them...

String theory, you need to get the Shpongles if you liked BPEmpire - give it just as much attention as Infected's albums and you'll find yourself in a strange new world: Shpongleland
