Mike D
This compilation is a must have for any fans of Psychadelic or Goa Trance. The first CD is very much an early morning mix, by the great Astral Projection. This cds contains many well known tracks, mixed superbly with songs such as "Let There Be light" and "Goaway". Although I am a relatively new comer to these sonds,I found a connection with this cd as it shows the beginning of the Trance scene, and how many groups and artist who are quite popular today made there name. i must say my favourite tracke here is "Butterfly Trip" by SFX, sweeping melodies over a nice bass beat, great morning music. The second cd is based around the midnight time, dark and fast tracks running into each other, samples screaming at you, such as Infected Mushrooms infamous "Psycho". Again many well known artists and groups are featured here, such as Sandman and Infected Mushroom. One thing that really sold me with this was the booklet that came with it. The firs two pages show a timeline of how the Israeli Trance scene was formed over the last ten years. The next 22 pages have colour photos of the emembers of each group and a detailed descriptions of how the song was formed, when it was releasd and why it has been used on a compilation that is trying to promote and describe the Israeli Trance scene. After a few listens, I have come to really enjoy this cd, one of the best mixed compilations out there. A must have for all fans and for all those tempted to delve into this genre` of electronic music. A definite 10/10 for the guys involved here
Guest Slidingtrancer
The only problem I have with this is I already have most of the songs and I don't wanna buy a cd for 30$ around here just for a booklet, but damn it's great!!! DOLPHInTRANCE
Imagine that you don´t have or know most of the tracks of this comp...making this mental exercise and rating only the quality of the music in it, i think most of us will agree that this comp deserves a 100/10!! I guess we all know this compilation by now!?. A retrospective look at some of the best goa-tracks that have come out of Israel for the last 7 years! Seven? That's right - the oldest tracks here are from 1994. The "10 years of Israeli trance" tag-line refers to the time when Guy Sebbag and his crew came back to Israel from Goa. We don't actually get to hear stuff from back then, though it could have been interesting. Back to the music. CD1 (mixed by Astral Projection) is all of our fav'e morning tunes, and WOOOW what a bunch of delicious cuts. From the nostalgic anthem X-Files to the timeless classic Whale. and The Sleeper Must Awake. And Goaway .And. And.. They are all here. All the beautiful tracks that we have danced to at sunrises thousands of times over the years. Quite simply amazing. A fantastic emotional trip [That's right! *s*] down memory lane. And the reminiscing doesn't stop when CD2 hits your brain. This is a night/party CD mixed by DJ Eyal Yankovich (HOM-Mega Vs. Infected I.Zen). Again we are presented with the real classics of powerful night tracks. Everyone HAS to know all these tracks. Sheer nocturnal bliss. Alien Pump. L.S.Dance. Psycho. Visitors.. For f*cks sake - take a look at the tracklisting! Does it get any better than this? . Nah! Critics would say - what the hell do we need all these old tracks for again? This smells like commercial cash crab! Well, agreed - I guess we all have all of these tracks - I know I do, but still were else can you find ALL the classics from 1994 to 2001 on a single compilation? The answer is that you can't. Another big fat plus in my cool-book is the very informative booklet with rare information and photos of every artist on this compilation. Also - this would be a great place to start a trance collection for someone just getting into trance. Start with the best, and never look back! *s* . Ok, it isn't all good. I would have preferred unmixed CDz, but under the circumstances I can live with mixed. I'm not impressed with the mixing though. Also this comp. is a nice occasion to dust of the old albums again and fly away into trance. To conclude, I really like this compilation. Old school lives, and I'll never get tired of these sounds that I have loved for so long. So if you're only going to get one album this year - well get Tales Of The Inexpressible or Otherwise! But if you're going to get two - get this one at all cost!. With this, I'm sure melodic goa trance will live on even through the hardest of minimal times! *s* Big fat 8.8/10! Bom shankar! mars
Actually it is a good revival because the tracks are well chosen. For people newly involved into psytrance, this is a good summary of what israeli artists are able of. For the others (who own most of these tracks), there is far less interest in owning this compil. Guest Ehsanur
My friend bought it just because of the booklet which apparantly contains info on all the major israeli artists from the start of the era of goa-trance. Virtually every artist is here;-) There are some good acts and songs which are close to my heart, especially Tandu's "Alien Pump" and Pigs in Space "Visitors P1" well I am a fan of Ofer:-) Astral Projection, Mfg,Sandman,Infected Mushies....well this is really a retro cd which takes me back.......ten years? omomomomomomomomomomomomomomomomomomomomoomomomomomomom Eshanti Brahman

Guest [Anonymous]
No Hallucinogen Tracks ? Strange, but it's perhaps label's war ..........
DeathPosture
Duh!... It's called RETRO - 10 years of ISRAELI trance... perhaps that's why you don't see any Hallucinogen track... Or X-Dream for that matter!...
Guest Psycobalt
Of course, one of the best compilation of the year...because there are a lot of classix in this one. This CD is good to discover goa...otherwise don't buy it...Special mention for "goaway" and "waves of sound".Yahel rulezzz!!!
Guest Ehsanur
Why there aren't any Hallucinogen tracks? Maybe you should look at the album title my friend :-) Not the best of 10 years global, but ISRAELI trance :-) hehehe........I would really be suprised if I couldn't find a single Hallucinogen track on an eventual cd with the best of 10 years of global psychedelic trance! boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom

Guest Claudio
There are only 2 good tracks at CD2! How could they put so much shit there!?
Guest thanosmusic[at]hotmail[dot]com
a nice to discover the isreli psychedelic sounds in the way they used to be. the first cd is very good with well known artists. the problem is woth the 2nd cd. these tracks are from the newly developed "species" of trance with more progressive sounds. in my opinion is a bad choise to include that kind of music whichis NOT history (yet at least)i would prefer the old melodic psychedelic sound(the title of the cd is RETRO, right;). anyway 9/10 for the 1st cd and 6/10 for the second, 10/10 for the booklet
Guest Le Lotus Bleu
Very good compilation with old and rare tracks from Tandu, Indoor, Phreaky...Nice booklet with photos and texts about artits. The only problem is that's 2 cd mixed and i prefer non-mixed cd. The tracklist is awezome on cd1 , i only hate chakra and edi mis. Cd2 is largely weaker. In fact i would have given 10 if tracks were full lenght and without some tracks like Xfiles,LsDance,Electro... As it's not the case i give only 7,5/
