Guest stringtheory
I will certainly check out some of Juno Reator's earlier releases. I always judge every piece of music I listen to with an open mind. But Shango really did bore me. I don't care whether it is psytrance or not. The question was is Juno Reactor psychedelic. To me, Shango was not psychedelic.

Otto Matta
If you read the artist interviews, you'll find that many if not most artists have been inspired by Juno Reactor, and also say that they'd love to work with him. That's saying a lot, I think. If nothing else, it says that a good portion of the scene has been inspired by, and thus originated with, Juno Reactor. That's a big deal, and in my opinion enough to qualify Juno as a psychedelic artist.
Guest * Vlad *
Such praise goes to the 'old' Juno Reactor in 90% of this thread. No surprise. It's probably because JR is one of the most imaginative artist in the last couple of decades. They were already ahead of their time in the early 80's with a band called the Flowerpot men, & explored many musical paths (just as their Killing joke counterparts) since then. These guys are just far too big & free to fit in any category. Now let's see if some cool artist will soon pick up the wand where JR dropped it & bring new blood to the scene. Then we'll have to try again (unsuccessfully of course) to stick a label to those who don't need any. Peace ;-)
