Jalliuz
Jirah - Outer Access Artist: Jirah Title: Outer Access Label: USTA Date: 2003 Track listing: 01. Return 02. Wide Open 03. The Perfect Place 04. Outer Access 05. Third Phase 06. Kether 07. Welcome To The Future 08. Optimator 09. Isen Review: This is an EEEEksscellent album, massive tracks all the way. The size of 'eye to eye' from Astrix last year. Not the same but really that good in its own way. It floats like a cloud on a sunny day driven by smooth structures and clean sounds. A real masterpeace from Canada and perfect fit for the morningshours. It seems like all the tracks are great. This is worth 9.5/
Lemmiwinks
well, I don't share Jalliuz' enthuisasm for this one... probably cause he's a DJ and I'm a home listener... So you've guessed it, this one's yet another dancefloor-oriented release that'll rock the parties but not very rewarding for listening at home IMO. My main complaint is that tracks don't really have a climax, they just go on and on. Sure it's full-on and it brings some pretty innovative ideas but... something's mising IMO. My fave track is Return. 7/10 (for home listening) BTW if you've always wondered what USTA stands for it's "Underground Sound of Tel Aviv" :-)
Sideffect...
Jirah - Outer Access (2003) I bought this fullon release together with silicon sound and I was totally sold. I just love the Jirah sound. Very squeaky and crunchy in many layers he rolls those sounds over a baseline that isn't that overwhelming but kinda floats along with the rest. In outer access Jirah totally exploits his sound. Very sharp, short, reforming, transforming it in any direction non stop with a little emotional touch. Not to cheesy he performs a release without dull moments, so action at a high level. He just goes and on and, so there is no actual high contrast between the beginning and end of a track. It's one track! Although this is fullon as a goatrance fan there is a high chance you will appreciate his approach because it creates brain activity like hell following every tiny sound over and over. At the end I can assure you, that you've had it with his formula. Enough is enough but maybe some months later another Jirah injection will do you good. It's now almost 10 years later and I'm still listening to this album, not often, but it stays and those are the ones that count.
