Jalliuz
Eskimo - Can You Pick Me Up ? Artist: Eskimo Title: Can You Pick Me Up ? Label: Phantasm Date: 2003 Track listing: 01. The Scorpion 02. Fire And Ice (Rmx) 03. Spotted Dots 04. Dirty Trancing 05. Travelling 06. Hyperdelic 07. Israeli Beautiful 08. Tbc 09. Can You Pick Me Up ? Review: This guy is only 17 year old! I'm pretty jealous For a guy that age this is very nice offcourse. But this is again another isralien sounding album. I get tired of that. Hey nothing agains israel hey, I just don't know how to call this sound. And there are accidentally many isralien groups that sound totally this way. That is indeed my problem. If I forget everything that has been done ever, then I would like this CD very very much. If this would be released one year earlier this was a bomb. Now its just the next in the row for me. The album sure has its moments and in some way this differs from what we have heard but just not enough to amaze me. I'm sure this is still a killer album for some people and it will sure set dancefloors on fire but not mine. There is only one bad song on it and that is the 'fire and ice remix'. Something is not right with that track, don't know what. All the other tracks could be great tracks. I will still give this 8/10.
Trance2MoveU
"You may be a free man during the day, but when you dream your monkey ass is mine!" I like to exercise. Well, until it gets too hard and then I wanna stop. Don't get me wrong, exercise is vital to a healthy mind and body and I do it daily. But I'm not trying to make Man United or score with a supermodel. Already did that. The supermodel part not Man U. Although in my youth I did have a tryout with Swansea AFC in Wales. But that was many cheeseburgers ago. But I digress. This was an exercise in letting go. When I first began listening to psytrance I can remember playing this CD all the time. There are lots of breaks and changes in direction so I can see why I liked this so much. But the original reviewer hit the nail on the head. In it's day it was engrossing full-on that hadn't yet been shoved down our throats in vomit inducing quantities. But when this came out 11 years ago...lots of things change in 11 years. 11 years ago I wanted to have sex all the time... and I still do. I just wanna see what's on T.V. first and if we have any pizza left. So I've come to terms with the fact that this is still full-on that's been done to death and it's a four letter word. It's not John's fault the guy was only 17 when he made this. He was at the head of the wave before it became a soul crushing subgenre where every teenager with fast tracker was making the next smash album. My music tasted have changed and I've moved on. The whole thing feels rather flat these days compared to current releases and improved recording and producing techniques. But we'll always have 2003. *rummages through fridge* Ooh! Pizza!
