Guest Darkclouds
while Psynews.org is dead ,i will write a review of Talamasca Zodiac here :0 Track 1 is a mix of hard rock and trance ,heavy guitars and synth bass together, not bad at all ,good for mid night.Track is the best because I am a taurus...no just jocking the track is very nice but not the best of the album,I have to accept it Tracks 1 to 12 are a kind of a new style adopted by Talamasca more melodramatic than previous albums BUT with the real Talamasca's juice,People who loved previous albums will adore this new one,it's a kind of evolution.Talamasca made a great third album without falling in the trap of making similar songs as before like Astral Projection and nor making a too much new original style as Infected Mushrooms's converting vegetarians(very disapointed).God exists because Talamasca's Zodiac is here to satisfy our apetit.Overall grade : 9/10 ,grades varies between 8/10 and 10/10 ,Compared to 2003 albums overall grade is 10/
Lemmiwinks
hey, I sent one too but like you say it seems this site is dead... ah well, here's a copy-past of mine: "Yes it’s Talamasca and he’s back on 3D Vision !! Well, under the original album and tracklist which some will probably consider as childish, but at least has the merit of “never been done before”, you’ll find 12 pumping full-on tracks which continue Talamasca’s trend started on Secret of the 13 Crystal Skulls of adding that old-school touch to the usual 3D Vision sound. It all sounds very good, although 12 tracks in the same style and virtually same BPM can become tiresome on the ears (you guessed it, this one’s more oriented for DJ use on the dancefloor than home listening…). BUT the problem here IMHO is that Talamasca has given us such excellent tracks in the past like Come On, Sinai and Telepathic Atmospheres that I’m afraid to say, remain unequalled by ANY track on this album!! Well, at least it’s better than Musica Divinorum IMO. My favourite tracks are Cancer, Virgo and Scorpio, but, like I said, I expected more from Lestat… 8/10 moondancer" SMI²LE

Guest Selim
Am I the only one extremely disappointed with "Zodiac"? All of Talamasca's melodies these days are so damn cheesy (including his recent tracks on compilations) -- he's verging on "victory trance" here. I think people are so starved for melodies these days that they're willing to settle for anything overtly melodic, no matter how ill-conceived or poorly executed those melodies might be. My theory about Lestat is that he's at his best when collaborating with others; check the credits for most of his best early tracks -- they're all cowritten with others. And what's with that signature super-high-pitched kick-drum and bass-line on the newer tracks? -Selim
Jalliuz
Not a bad album at all here! But I also expected some more progress from one of the leaders. Or should I say 'other' progress? I kinda hoped on some darker driven songs like 'GMS vs Talamasca - mutation'. Ok maybe I shouldn't have hoped that... The aries track is for me the best in the album. When the first guitars hit in, now that's what I call KICKING! But sadly this track was played so much on the dancefloors even before the album was released. That's offcourse not their fault This album surely has some refreshing things in it and brings oldskool again this step closer to us. The general sound is typical Talamasca. What is a good thing because its nice and clear but when listening to the whole album it sounds to much the same like Moondancer said in his review. This is real DJ stuff, uplifting and psychedelic. And an album we need these days to bring 'a little' more variation in the scene. This is for me 8.5/10, there are no bad tracks on it. Just buy it, its worth it. Guest Seismix
Album - Zodiac is created in old style and i dont see anything meaning in this album... but good dynamic kicking make's me very tolerance and on the dancefloor i just forgot everything which is old not ambitious [the baseline is very good for dance i think]. In single, the tracks which i like is Cancer, Virgo, Libra. Album: 6/
seraph
Nothing all of that special and brilliant that i expeceted to hear...There are good songs : CANCER ( ! ),SCORPIO, SAGITTARIUS, PISCES...I was pretty dissapointed with TAURUS ( my sign ) cause it is really boring and uninnovative...LEO is too minmal and AQUARIUS don't have any point...HUH...Pity...It could have been better album ...6.5/
Ormion
Niothing to do with Beyond Of The Mask and Musica Divinorum but still good, melodic full on. The problem is that most of the tracks sound the same. Best track of all Cancer! The last minute is WOW!
Manuser
More full on than the previous albums, I found some tracks really good, but the problem for me is that you can't listen to the whole album from the 1st track till the last track, you get really really tired, as Ormion said tracks are too similar. Deepdrone
For me it`s somehow a good album, I like several songs. Some of them are really great. The bassline is reallly impressing to me. In Leo it`s really captivating!!! The product of his collaboration with others are not better for me (I know only the album Talamasca and Friends from 2004, maybe I should find other older tracks ) Favourites : Libra : 10/10 Gemini : 9/10 Leo : 8.5/10 Cancer : ~8/10 Capricorn : ~7.5/10 Scorpio : ~7/

I think Filteria or maybe Cybernetika should do a remix of that last minute of Cancer there's potential at least
Bubble Wrap
my favorite and only talamasca album at the time Libra was definaetly the track that made me want to get this album. I also like the hard goa beats in the second half of gemini. My only problem is that tracks 2 and 12 seem like fillers but other than that I keep coming back to this CD. Whether its full on psy or goa that I'm in the mood for, its always satisfying

Pandemonium
This one reminds me of a dark journey through psy trance. Nice album conept and better than anything he has released since IMO.

Malevol3nt
here is wallpaper Thanx for the wall Aliened This album is amazing. Never heard talamasca before and I'm really interested in more of his stuff. Fave tracks are Aries, Cancer, Libra.
Jon Cocco
This was his last good-range album IMO. Beyond the Mask is my favourite Talamasca album to date. That said-- Aries seems unfair as to why it's so forgettable. Taurus has a catchy melody with complimentary synths that come and go. Around that its pretty basic, forgettable. Gemini's first half is cheesy AF a la circus melody. The second half is quite nice. It's as if two composers were in conflict making this) Cancer I remember really liking. Hearing it again, I see why-- the second half. The FIRST half is cheesy. Same issue I had with Gemini. Leo has good opening atmosphere, accents, and synths. I wish these songs had more storytelling substance and dynamic plot beats! Virgo is weak. It improves in the second half so that's something. Libra is great! Scorpio is darker, edgier. One of the better tracks. Sagittarius is average. Capricorn is above average. Aquarius picks up after a repetitive bass line, complimented by a tenser sound halfway through. Pisces is fairly uneventful. Its nice albeit repetitive sound develops, yet the overall song feels lazy, more or less, and underwhelming. CONCLUSION There is some good work here, especially if you're a Talamasca fan. Some of its psychedelic, exciting, and catchy. Unfortunately, some of it's cheesy, repetitive, similar, and uninspired. Overall a mixed bag IMO, but don't let that negate the good stuff! HIGHLIGHTS - LIBRA, CANCER (second half), LEO, CAPRICORN, SCORPIO 6.5 or 7 out of 10 from me.
astralprojection
It's kinda hilarious to read these old reviews from the early 2000s. It's sometimes unfathomable. Anyway, Leo is clearly the best track off of this album ^^ Kansur is nice but it's very cheesy. Leo is the only track without a side order of double cheese and bacon
