My Generation Review: Psy-Harmonics icon Rip von Hippie delivers a cool yet unhip album. Think freestyle jazz with random noise. It has that 'noir-ish' David Lynch (weird filmmaker) vibe. This evil nightclub music is very good though. The slapping funky bass parts are some of the fattest I've ever heard and in every track there is at least one bright melody saving it from the Richard D. James(Aphex Twin) syndrome. Also the percussion is 2 thumbs up ranging from tribal to more classic analogue drumming. Its probably too experimental to have any dancefloor appeal but trax like 'Black Lodge' and 'Life on a Chip' kinda resembles psytrance as we know it. A very enjoyable home-listening album that gets better with every spin. Do not apply if 13 in a dozen full-on or progressive is your thing but if you dig Possible Apple or Mr.Bungle give it a deserved try. Best trax 2,3,6,9(!) and 11. Rate 8/10.
