Setsuko
Antix - Lull Artist: Antix Title: Lull Label: Iboga Date: 2003 Track listing: 01. 7'39" Darko 02. 9'59" Hit The Frog N Toad 03. 9'53" Blood 04. 8'15" Chase 05. 7'26" Capella 06. 8'46" Free As We Are 07. 8'10" On The Rock 08. 7'36" Slave To Dose Review: Well ... here it is . the fresh breeze through psytrance . Iboga strikes just another time , after the amazing 'symphony' album by Mikael and Jeppe ... this time Barton and Hayden Strom from NZ are the producers. they deliver us smooth vibrating hypnotising non-agressive psytrance .. maybe for the soft people or the low bpm dancing lovers but no doubt a true masterpiece , astonishing ... When Antix played live @ Voov this year their sound really thouched me very emotional, very stranged yet simply beautiful ...this album gives me that particular feeling , but if you don't listen careful enough , you might not experience the joy I had . all tracks are impressive , but if I would choose my favourites I would say 2,3,4!(amazing stereo),5!!(smooth sounds),6!(mystical uplifter)... well , another descripting would be that it is sort of mixture of Atmos-Ticon-Vibrasphere coming from the other side of the world . highly recommended . 9/10 try to listen with headphones too ;-)
Guest Rain
1. 7'39" Darko 2. 9'59" Hit The Frog N Toad 3. 9'53" Blood 4. 8'15" Chase 5. 7'26" Capella 6. 8'46" Free As We Are 7. 8'10" On The Rock 8. 7'36" Slave To Dose Release Date : 2003 Well I noticed this one is reviewed on psynews but like nobody replied back then so why not give it some more attention... It's been a while since I listened to this one too and yesterday I remembered why I like this album a lot... In the beginning I found the title very stupid cause 'lull' means dick or cock in dutch , stupid reason but it influenced me... after a while it did gave it a try and what the heck... Antix has got a very unique sound... This is the pure definiton of minimal ihmo... I wouldn't call it progressive cause the bass line isn't the most important in this release... There are no real dancefloor killers cause the tempo is very smooth and the perfect ticks at every step fith perfectly... This release is pure psychedelic although there is not one melody or big climax...it is a journey within pots & pans from your left into your right speaker... it creates lots of brain activity and suprises you with little silicon sounds elements... You know the travelling sounds with tales ... I would say homelistening at his best and rate 8/10... for the unique style, lots of originality and not getting it's postive feeling by trying to be the best & hardest kick... amphiton
I love Antix! It actually opened a door to minimal/progressive trance for me back then...
madpup
I think in the right settings, this album is awesome on the dancefloor, and not just for home listening. Its a great sound, a real cascade of many sounds that combine together to produce something beautifull. My fav track is Darko, such an amazing mix of dark and light. Sour Milk
Great album, very intelligent minimalesque sound, very refreshing, someone might call it progressive psytrance
