Guest aurorix14[at]hotmail[dot]com
Asia 2001 - Abduction Artist: Asia 2001 Title: Abduction Label: Avatar Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. X-Ray 02. Paris - New York 03. Scream 04. Light on LA 05. Plamet Gonzo 06. Tunnel 07. Abduction 08. Blond Girls 09. Seven Times 10. Paradise Planet 11. Z666 Review: This album is delicious for all goa fans seems feor me. The seventh album from Asia 2001 is more commercial than rest, but still god. The best track are 2, 5,6,7 and 11. This tracks are quite nice but track 7 is really boring. I don't like this at all. I think who like asia 2001 style won't be dissapointed. My rating5.5/

Guest Goa Spirit
This stuff is the epitome of the word BLAH.. this is exactly what i mean when i say something is boring or BLAH... asia 2001, come on guys who are you trying to fool? you guys need to evolve..... 5 years of exactly same music, add up to boring listening.. Guest chpa0d[at]bangor[dot]ac[dot]uk
Not in to this at all. Asia 2001 has evolved but not in a good way. I think they have lost their hard edge. Even the tracks that start off ok loose it half way through with some dodgy pitch changes. I wont say that this is crap because some of you may be into it. However it does nothing for me and I love all of their previous cd's. I think I'll stick with wizzy noise and bamboo forest etc.
Guest freak[at]freakybob[dot]co[dot]uk
as published in march/april issue of upfront magazine: Title: Asia 2001 Artist: Abduction Label: Avatar Records Asia 2001 is a swirling anthemic psychedelic melee; Israeli trance in its purest form. I found the experience of listening to the whole album in one go a little bit too much. But having said that, individual tracks like Planet Gonzo really did stand out as some of the finest I have heard in this genre for a long time. freaky bob
Manuser
The bad words above are understandable. I still find this music decent but i'm quite easy to please and sometimes i like cheesiness. Having said that, this album lacks complexity, sometimes sounding old is a compliment, and sometimes it's not. It does sound very old, and by sequence naive like dance music from the early 90's?! But I like some tracks, for example ''Scream'', listen to that track it sounds so cliché but it's quite fun ! "Planet Gonzo" is good but why only 4 and half minutes long? "Light on LA" is fine too... but why not more variety in this album? It really makes you feel the artist was bored and not inspired, wanted to finish the album quickly? Lots of distorsion and pitch changes in this album, track "Abduction" is so difficult to follow one of the melodies sounds so wrong... It's a shame, Asia 2001 has talent and nice ideas but doesn't push these ideas far enough? I guess producing 11 short tracks instead of 8 longer ones doesn't help... If you are looking for psychedelic goa don't buy this because it's not psychedelic. Get his previous albums instead. If you are looking for something more simple/happy trance sounding, you can give it a try. By the way, "Blond girls" is in my opinion a very nice track, short but good, same goes for "Paradise planet". Actually it's this kind of tracks I would like more if they were released in VA compilations rather than here because listening to these 11 tracks in a row can be a bit too much.
