Guest cloeken[at]hotmail[dot]com Posted February 13, 2000 Posted February 13, 2000 Mystica - Age Of Innocence Artist: Mystica Title: Age Of Innocence Label: BNE Date: 1999 Track listing: 01. 09'33" Age Of Innocence Part 1 02. 07'36" 5AM 03. 06'17" China 04. 07'15" Mama Kallu 05. 07'19" Narnya 06. 08'04" Ashes To Ashes 07. 07'49" Jamiroquay Remix 08. 07'56" Age Of Innocence Part 2 09. 06'49" Roni's Guitar 10. 08'08" Back To Eden Review: This cd is what we should call very melodic morning music (I think). It starts very ambient/chill (track 1-3). Track 4 stops the chill with powerful beats and strong synth lines. Track 5, 6 And 7 (like the original better) goes on with that flow, before track 8,9 And 10 calms it down. Good tracks: 3,4,5,6. Bad track: 2. Rating: 6/10 Quote
Guest Tequila Posted February 13, 2000 Posted February 13, 2000 this CD is not good...but not bad so...It's clear that it's not great goa, but it's calm and peaceful. The best Track is probably China (to my own) with a nice voice that does not hurts the melody and the harmony of the music( that's rare in goatrance!).The problem of this Album is that there are a lot of CDs that are really better.6/10 Quote
Guest Kvin2000 Posted February 13, 2000 Posted February 13, 2000 A piece of...well, cheese. The worst album I own from what is probably the worst Israeli act in my opinion. as an Israeli myself I feel an obligation to be over criticising of local trance. I do, however, adore a large part of it (infected mushroom - the best, space cat, Sandman etc.) This album is to melodic and cheesy with sticky "oriental" melodies throughout. It's not my cup of tea I guess. Guest Mindbender Posted February 14, 2000 Posted February 14, 2000 I think that this album is ok. 5AM manages to combine guitar really well to trance. I think this would be a good last track of a party to bring a gentle touchdown. China is pop, but still very good and nicely different. The rest of the tracks (I have it on LP, so I don't have track 8 and have part 2 of track 1) are quite similar. They are very melodic and have good variation in the melodies. Unfortunately, there are very few sounds to further enhance the atmosphere and what I especially don't like is the 'bum-tsi'-beat that stays the same all the time and from song to song. I think that despite having a 4/4 kick drum, the beat should offer a bit more. Even the snare-uplifts sound like they are pasted on top of the rest and don't really fit. The good tracks from this 'group' are Narnya and Ashes to Ashes. Back to Eden is also quite nice. Despite the rest (groove etc.) being really bad, the melodies are nice and they lift the grade to 6/10. Quote
Guest Pit-UFO Posted February 26, 2000 Posted February 26, 2000 A very bad, very boring album, Its like a collaboration between SCOOTER and MIRANDA. I really like cheesy trance but this is shitty trance. CHINA its the only good moment. AAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!! I'm sick of that PULP FICTION sample, please some imagination! 2/10 Quote
Anoebis Posted March 2, 2000 Posted March 2, 2000 Is this Psy-Trance??? I DON'T THINK SO!!! I can't believe this is released by BNE and Dragonfly!! Because this is normal Trance with some Psy-Trance influences! This album really SUX!! Don't buy it if you wan't real Goa and not this CHEESE-shit!!! Bom Shankar Quote
mars Posted April 15, 2000 Posted April 15, 2000 It's good, but it's too cheesy after all. When you're listening to it the first time, it seems ok, but when you've heard it 5 more times, you cant stand it anymore. It's too repetitive. In fact it's on the frontier of pzatzot. There are some good tracks sometimes, so the mark is: 6/10 Quote
Basilisk Posted June 14, 2000 Posted June 14, 2000 I never found it to be any good... kind of cheesy, in fact. Quote
Guest Hohenzollern[at]angelfire[dot]co Posted November 4, 2000 Posted November 4, 2000 Please disregard the posts above. This album is actually not bad. It is very melodic, and isn't cheese, it's an acquired taste. If all you ever listen to is Infected Mushroom, then when you drop down to a lower level of trance, you have to re-adjust to the more melodic sounds. Of course this album is less psy-trance than Infected, Hallucinogen, etc... but it has it's moments just like every CD out there. Mama Kallu, Ashes To Ashes, and Back To Eden are the best on this album. If you can listen first, see if you like it before you buy. 7/10 Quote
Guest [Anonymous] Posted December 9, 2000 Posted December 9, 2000 Mmmmm....ilike...very good...8/10. Quote
Guest ArchNemesis Posted January 4, 2001 Posted January 4, 2001 I never get tired of Ashes To Ashes. Incredible. 8/10 Quote
Guest ArchNemesis Posted January 4, 2001 Posted January 4, 2001 All those who keep bringing this album down. None of ya could not even in your dreams create something so melodic as this. I think its a good album and worth the money i paid for it. Quote
Guest doktor1234[at]hotmail[dot]com Posted January 16, 2001 Posted January 16, 2001 I don't agree with what a lot of people have said about this album. I think it is a very nice album, melodic and hypnotic at the same time. So, to sum it up, it is worth the money. Quote
Guest donthave[at]email[dot]com Posted February 27, 2001 Posted February 27, 2001 yup, defintely worth the cash Quote
Guest AchNemesis[at]sol[dot]dk Posted April 17, 2001 Posted April 17, 2001 although... 5AM sux. it's a boring track Quote
Guest shagbagboy Posted April 23, 2001 Posted April 23, 2001 Why are some people so limited in their choice of music...i think this record is a nice one and its suits some moments in life, and all of you limited people should open your mind...and be more miscallaneous in you choise of music...explore diffrent kinds of music in diffrent kinds of situations... Guest the expert Posted May 27, 2001 Posted May 27, 2001 It's Ok.....but afterall I will give it 6/10 Quote
Guest Anonyymi. Posted July 31, 2001 Posted July 31, 2001 Ashes to ashes is a very powerful track. The use of Pulp fiction sample is great. And this is the truth as i see it. Cheesy? Depens how NARROW your view is. Quote
Guest jonsgames[at]hotmail[dot]com Posted August 1, 2001 Posted August 1, 2001 This is an o.k. album except some tracks are just very repetitive but overall it worth it to hear china, so not a bad purchase if you enjoy different kinds of trance. Quote
Guest mares021[at]hotmail[dot]com Posted September 18, 2001 Posted September 18, 2001 what to say,3,4,5 an than it comes 6th powerfull melodic song with israel sound!!!perfect!!!then 7,preety good and it comes 8th song,bummmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!perfect9/10 Quote
Guest [Anonymous] Posted November 14, 2001 Posted November 14, 2001 define cheesy.. cheesy seems to be a trendy word here.. infected mushroom has some extremly cheesy songs.. but still they are good, i just hate it when people say that something is cheesy Quote
Guest suteki_co[at]hotmail[dot]com Posted November 20, 2001 Posted November 20, 2001 my favorite music is track-3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
seraph Posted December 26, 2001 Posted December 26, 2001 This is good album that has 50-50 melodic quality. Songs AGE OF INNOCENCE PART 1 AND 2, MAMA KALLU, NARNYA, ASHES TO ASHES AND JAMARAQUI RMX are great melodic songs, but the rest especially CHINA seems like it don't belong on this album...yes, I know that chinese are least innocence in this age but this song really don't explain anything. 6/10 Quote
Guest paradise Posted January 22, 2002 Posted January 22, 2002 aaa the best album:))) ISRATRANCE FOREVER! 10/10 Quote
