Review:

Second Album from Etnica (aka Pleiadians), Alien Protein is excellent. Each

track has its own personnality and they are all very good. Screaming Butterfly

is a loud track, filled with voices, Party Droid is a fast, pumping track,

Z-Plane sunrise is one of the best tracks with a wonderful melody, Starship

101 is also a fast track. The two last tracks are ambient, but great too ! Deep

east makes you dream of unknown landscapes, and Trip Tonite has a melancolic

melody, a perfect end for the album. My favorites are Starship 101, Trip

Tonite and Z-Plane Sunrise. 9/10

I love this album. When i bought it in 1996 while Etnica wasnt as known as

nowadays, it came as a revelation to me. Every track is worth it. Definitely a

timeless state of the art album. The only drawback is that it's hard to find

now.

My favourite: Starship 101. Rating: 9/10

Get it if you can find it, if only for the history lesson on how the few made

gorgeous music with such limited technology [admittedly, better than the 1980s

but I can hardly believe this record is almost as old as the Web].

Yeah its good, although the melodies and the sounds in some of the trax sound a

little dated compared to todays releases.... 1996 10/10 now 6/10.

This was my favourite when it came out, now the only song i still listen to is

Trip Tonite. Amazing track. They made a new mix of that, too, but its not as

good. Deep East is an amazing chill out track, makes you feel like you are

smoking a phat hooka with the sheiks in an oasis ddeep east...

Oldies but goldies. Harmonious is the way to put it. Diverse, from Starship 101

- this is darkness circa 1996, to Z-Plane Sunrise - AP start taking notes on

how to make an uplifting track. Might sound a little old and underproduced at

times, but still exceptionally good. I'm not gonna give a rating of what it

was in 1996(yes i was there when it happened, starship101 got me into

goatrance :-) ) cause noone cares now. 7.5/10 leaning towards 8/10 - Very good

but underproduced for today. Oh and btw, DO NOT buy their 3rd album! Under no

circumstances! At least read my review first and buy pleiadians instead. Bom!

realy nice album, in my opinion the best release of etnica. If you listen to

this cd you must know this was a killeralbum in the goascene of '96 .the

melodies are quiet mindcrashing. actually I like the whole cd but 'Microdrive'

and 'Trip Tonite'are the masterpieces. 7,5/10 and keep on tripping!

Dont listen to the "Good then, bad now" Pundits, Quality trance is timless. And

becoming increasingly rare it would seem..... (see the next album for example)

Buy it, if you can.

Masterpiece. Nothing else can definate this album better. 11/10

Yes yes, this is great, but why did Etnica change their style through the years

to become some shitty minimal psy? 9/10 for this one... 3/10 for the other

Etnica releases...
