Guest Ubik
Source Unknown - AM Receiver Artist: Source Unknown Title: AM Receiver Label: Tatsu Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. 07'57" Blond Sexy Doped Babes 02. 07'04" Space Cry 03. 08'47" Technofused 04. 06'32" AM Receiver 05. 06'24" Beach Party 06. 08'14" Distorted Vision 07. 07'51" No Speed Freakin 08. 08'16" Freaky Groove 09. 08'24" Breakdance Review: Source Unknown is Nick Galatsopoulos, from Greece. This album is good when you're in the mood to destroy something Take Midi Miliz/Spirallianz and 3.Turn/Authentik, add a bit of Intact Instinct, Plattenfedermanometer style, put the whole thing on steroids and there you have it : relentless attack of massive killer bass with angry drum loops and a hard kick hammering all the time ! Some slick sound effects and wandering little sounds add a nice psychedelic touch to it as well, but some may say this sounds a lot closer to techno than psytrance. There are enough variations and short breaks troughout the tracks to keep them interesting, however the whole album is maybe a little tough to ingest in one shot Not much else to say, a track by track description would be pointless (For now Technofused, Freaky Groove and Breakdance are my fav, but this might change), so if you like the artists above, or the already released Technofused and Blond Sexy Doped Babes, get this you won't be disappointed. Warning : not for the faint-hearted ! 8.5/
Guest Nois
Hard, kickin' tech-trance for the middle of the night. Strictly for percussive mayhem fans. The best tracks for me are #1 and #5, although the whole album is good. 8/
freak51
Noisy, bangy. Not as harsh as the DIMO clan, but there's not much love in it either. Not my cup of tea, but it is well-executed. 6/10.
Guest rezzzo
Very nice, psy scene needs more artists like this. songs 1-5 are just amazing, killer. crazy minimal technoish tracks with that killing mood like midi miliz/spirallianz, delta, authentik. 9/

unit_
I agree, very nice "techno-trance" mix album . Reminds me of Spirallianz/Midi Miliz which I like very much. I think Beach Party is the best track on the album.
Guest [Anonymous]
I heard it in the recordshop, heard it again and I think that all the songs are the same or alsmost the same. Even for me this is to hard. I didn't bought it because it's to "techno". If it was a single LP with only the best tracks on it, I would have considered buying it. But now not, it's just not my cup of tea. I'm sure there are some quality tracks on it, but not for my set. So everyone who reads this, listen to the album and make your own decision!!!! Guest Mescalinium
There are a couple of good tracks on here, the previously released Blond Sexy Doped Babes/Technofused and the title track, but unfortunately, all the songs have the same essential groove. For example, nearly all the percussive sounds are syncopated between the 1st and 2nd and the 3rd and 4th beats of a measure. Also, a lot of the sounds in different tracks are *way* too similar. This seems to be an issue with so many minimal acts (e.g. XV Killist, Authentik); is it really that hard to come up some different sounds!!! Argh... Though I was expecting more after their first EP this is still a solid debut effort. And goddamn, that AM Receiver track really kicks ass! 6/10 from me. Guest thanosmusic[at]hotmail[dot]com
WWWWWWWWOOOOOOOWWWWWW. great album from source unknow. i don't know why it took me so long to bye this album. if you like minimal trance go and buy it now. if your cup of tea is dark and hard this is for you. if you like wizzy noise then this is just for you. source unkown are on the scene long before wizzy, so i don't want to hear anything about copying, ok? all the tracks are great and dancefloor oriented. it's great,it's fantastic, it's source unkown the name says it all. i think greece deserves a piece from the pie of minimal trance (wizzy noise, source unknown, magus, zma rec., acid dance rec.etc)do you?11/10GREAT

Guest Syre
I bought this because its so mean and powerful. I spin it everytime someone says they know what hard tech-trance is, and after 10 mins. in this, they have changed their minds.
