Guest Deku81
Tristan - Audiodrome Artist: Tristan Title: Audiodrome Label: Twisted Date: 1999 Track listing: 01. 08'43" Fetish 02. 06'23" Valve 03. 07'08" Dreamtime 04. 08'58" Reptile Mind 05. 06'53" Lore Of Fives 06. 10'04" Perimeter 07. 06'02" Mind Over Meter 08. 07'49" Martian Arts 09. 08'48" Infatuation Review: Debut album from Tristan (aka Man With No Name). This is way different from MWNN and I like his new style alot more. Dark, twisted, hard, fast and psychedelic .. just the way I like it. It starts off in a raw tempo with 'Fetish', then u got 'Valve' that is a bit slow but it has a cool sample. The hard and fast tempo continues again on the next track until the end of the album. Best songs are #1 and #8, and the only track i think could be left out is track #2 which doesn't really fit in on this album (especially not after that insane start). Posford's label has once again put out a nice quality album. Rating: 6/
Guest Antic
It's no suprise that it's different from MWNN work ...because they're two different people. MWNN is Martin Freeland and Tristan is Tristan Cooke. I think you mixed something up about that, but I agree that this is good, even though I never really heard this. I know Tristan's other works (Purple Merlin, William, Julz) and they are simply mindblowing, so this one is expected to be equally good! Sorry for this pointless messege! freak51
Lots and lots of data here. Best for the couch, not really for dancing - even though it has all the elemnents of stonkin' danceable trance. Good High Weirdness in the sounds he's created. Trippy. freak51
OK it's been a month and this disc keeps getting better and better. Possibly the most intelligent psy-trance I've ever heard. How the Hell did Tristan make such noises?
Guest freex[at]mailcity[dot]com
Yes this album gets better all the time. Creates really nice pictures.
Guest AtomikElf
yeah, at first i thought this album was a bit "strange", and i didn't take to it quickly. but after actually listening to the sounds in there, i was pleasantly surprised. this album has detail, and can be quite mindblowing. and it's layed out nicely too. there seems to me to be a different element of psytrance in this album. buy it and enjoy it, however, let me just say this is not like a.p, or i.m, or halluc... or pleia..., this is different party music, but is good for broadening the horizons (so to speak...hehehhe). 7.5/10 - man from the atom
Guest Cosmic.Circus[at]12move[dot]nl
Great album!!Lots of hypnotic trancetracks to get you to outerspace. For the livingroom but also for the dancefloor, when played at the right moment.. Guest Ktaadn
True to form, Tristan takes things just a bit deeper. He's broken the mold this time, and Freak 51's assessment is spot on. Simply put, this is "intelligent" music. For me, the best trance nowadays is cerebral -- don't just move my body, move my mind! No steep drumrolls or overstated buildups here. Tristan adopts the "less is more" mindset and it serves him (and the listener) well. Don't underestimate the power of "Audiodrome" on the floor, though. Sometimes, it's the thick, smokey tracks that really work the crowd. If you haven't already, grab this one. It may not be a wild ride, but the scenery is mindblowing. 8.5/
Guest Antic
I must say that first time I heard it I thought it was pretty simple music without any sign of imagination. But then I put it on headphones and I changed my mind completely! I still think that this is simple and not so much complex as for example Cosmosis (old albums), Hallucinogen or KoxBox, but it has it?s own atmosphere and well? charm ;-) Tristan?s music is very minimalistic, but that is not the kind of minimalism we hear lately (I mean new scandinavian sound or for example Cosmosis - Intergalactic) but it somehow reminds me of Tresor records ? Jeff Mills, Cristian Vogel, Pacou, Landstrumm and others. And by any means this is nothing bad ? I feel this CD brings new flavor into psy-trance and I always wanted to hear something like it: simple, yet very powerful minimal groove combined with all those psychedelic effects, noises, scratches and acid sounds! Tristan is really great at that and the result is very groovy and danceable, though not very accesible to all the trance freaks out there I think. There is really no bad tracks on this CD and the best ones are Fetish, Dreamtime, Perimeter, Martian Arts and Infatuation ? the others are close but harder to get into (especially Mind Over Matter!). So, if you like melodic trance then you?ll hate this, but otherwise it?s worth to give it a try - just look for the CD with the worst cover-art they have in your record shop ? this surely will be this one! 7.5/

Guest dj_auryn
Tristan manages to create a kind of tension in each of his track that is simply mindblowing... particularly in perimeter and infatuation, tristan just keeps you on your toes, brooding over the noises like their his fetish, until suddenly the high hats and claps kick in and the track gains velocity. Excellent, Tristan is totally in a class of his own, and even shadows out simon posford when it comes to producing cutting edge psytrance. Guest Rolling Away The Stone
Stop thinking. Start listening. Stop moving. Stop listening. When your headphones are no longer phisically noticable, Start Listening. Your well on your way to dicovering a whole new landscape of psy language with classic-harmonyless, neo-FX-melodic soundscapes. Again, START NOW. spacemonkey
This man is the simon posford of groovy psychedelic techno!!! He can make noise seem like the most beautifull sounds and creates dark pictures of computer generated landscapes in dimensions beyond our reach infected with flying objects that seem like jelly fish but or not, surrounded with mist that is alive and also the bringer of live in a incomprehensible scale, moon lit mountains of moving stone inscripted with egyptian signs (how the hell did that come there!?!), and radiating purple beams seering through the universe. Or mayby it's just another goddamn good album that diserves a straight 10 out of 10. Keep up the good work Tristan!!
Guest mike1980[at]hotmail[dot]com
I bought the vinal but have no turntable- go figure. I had this idea to start DJing but now I'd rather produce. I got FETISH off nabster- it rocks! His other stuff is real good, 'small paper squares' is what made me buy this. Twisted puts out crazy shit. Peace, from Canada.
