Guest dj_auryn
Hmmmm, wasn't quite as impressed as Danger above, but it's an o.k. album. I have the rainbow warrior / mindboggler 12", and I think the album sounds too much like those 2 tracks, too one-dimensional. The album has a good feel, and BHC is definitly a cool chewn, but as a whole, I think these guys need to be more imaginative and original. Kinda shaky production too... 6/
Guest Goa Spirit
This is one of my favorite albums at the moment.. necton delivers to us some serious trance.. very progressive and stomping at the same time.. the first track is a great intro ... nice build up into a great groove.. pretty much the story of the whole album.. track 5 is a masterpiece!! some serious stuff going on in this track,, the way he cuts the BHC melody is amazing.. you hear it in various forms throughout the track,, and man you can groove all night to this track.. the whole theme here is very progressive.. each track building up very nicely.. and then there is the scando influence (goosebumps).. a very nice and refreshing new release.. only problem is that the tracks sound pretty similar throughout the album.. i would give it a 7.5/10... and would recommend it as a definite buy/ Bom Shankar! danger
Necton - B12 Cocktail Artist: Necton Title: B12 Cocktail Label: Spirit Zone Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. 09'33" There Ain't No Answers 02. 08'09" Technotest 03. 09'30" The Hitman 04. 08'00" Moonwalker 05. 08'01" Beverly Hills Cop 06. 08'39" Crystal Overdose 07. 08'57" Racer 08. 07'23" Rainbow Warrior (Dub Rmx) Review: Finally Spirit Zone released the first album from a "new", talented group: Necton. They released some tracks under various labels which are showed their talents. They have their own unique progressive sound. First track starts with bubbling sounds, technoid but at near the second half it turns 180 degree! Tribal drums and lots of other candy! The ending turns back into a more techno dimension. Next track, Technotest is a deeper one. The third tune is not so good as the first two, maybe a bit fluffy. Moonwalker coming. The story continues stomping, pumping, fresh energy. And the fifth track...Beverly Hills Cop....sheeesh! The top of the album. It's one of Necton's most melodical tunes... it's a masterpiece! Crystal Overdose pumping up the energy and the speed to keep the party flowin on... Sadly the Racer is the weakest point of the album...the last track is one of my favourite Necton track, Rainbow Warrior's dub remix. Great ending of a great CD. Awesome album, every track has its own story, build ups are amazing. 9/10 especially for BHC!!! hehe...GET IT!!!
Guest russ
This album is a techno bore. Not good psy-techno, just boring psy-techno. (With the ubiquitous and annoying techno clap.) (But I like the Beethoven track on the digital structures album.)
Guest gANESHA
I like it. But a little bit minimalistic 8/

mars
This is too minimalistic, but the authors have found a good receipe. Beverly Hills Cop & Crystal Overdose are the best tracks. The whole album is too monotonous but it's far better than zounds of other sh**s released in 2000. 7/10.
Guest col_klink3[at]hotmail[dot]com
Ok - I've only been through this album once, and to tell you the truth, I don't think I'll go through it again for a little while... I was basically bored by the entire thing... Sure it had it's moments - but why can't I remember them? Why did nothing stick in my head? The album is dry and tasteless - that's why... Hearing Necton's EP's (specifically his awesome track: My Mud is Bubbling) I was really pumped for this album.... Think I'll listen to MOS - Meter instead... Guest jupiter
maybe he should include some cool lyrics for you to sing to at the dance floor next time? "oh baby baby why can't we just be together oyyeaahhh". If you like minimalistic trance then go get this album. it rocks! It's worth getting just for the GREAT beverly hills cop track. 8/
Guest gizmo
I think it's more then average minimal trance. Cool music, with tribal & funky tunes. I think its worth to buy. I give 7,5/
Guest Koirraaah
Rating: Above average. None of the tracks are bad but not one of them is incredible either - I like it a lot as background music.
Guest eden.solaris
What the fuck is this??????????? Since I've bought a few albums after eding reviews saying "it's great" and feeling like throwing it to the garbage after 15 minutes (read my Shidapu review), I've become more cautious. Now, instead of rushing to the store, I first listened to the tracks that you people say are "awesome". And they were the first tunes I listened to being released in 2001. I was hoping that in the new millenium shit club music you call goa would die off and real goa (remeber Astral Projection, Transwave, Prana?...) would make a comeback... But it seams that shit is here to stay!!!! It's not even goa!!!!!! Beverly Hills Cop sucks!!!! I FORCED myself to listen it untill the end, hoping that the "good part" would come... but it never did!!! Listen to the original soundtrack of the movie, it's better!!! It's simple: if you want good melodies and psychedelic sounds, listen to REAL goa, if you want hard beats listen to club music and get the fuck out of here!!!!!!!! 0/10 Let's hope the new millenium will give us something better... Did I say hope??? I meant let's PRAY!!!!
Guest [Anonymous]
This is probably the best album i ever heard... real funky beats with good melody, not that israelli shit, but real nice thing. The album is real good from track 1 to 8, and i really like beverly hills cop track!!! what a flashback man!
Guest M
Great album---beautiful and deep. I found it to be melodic, rhythymic and constant. Tracks flow nicely---"Moonwalker" really blew me away---nice in the morning when the mind needs to be calmed yet stimulated. Good work fellas. Guest ArchNemesis
This is not goa at all. so don't try to compare it with goa. this is psytrance. not the boring astral projection shit. this is a deep album, not great, but good. worth hearing, but i think it would do better in clubs, not in private. 7,5/
Guest Acidhive
I agree with the first review here, and would like to add that this album is a very smooth production!! This works on everyone, especially BHC which is just soooo good!! An these guys know how to make a really great bassdrum!! I'll give this a solid 8,5/10 and hope they're busy working on a second album!!
freak51
I found the first track excellent, and the rest forgettable. The good bits will probably show up on comps. 5.5/
Guest Goa Spirit
I am already really sick of this album. Problem is that over here in the US, dj's love stuff like necton, 3 turn etc. which is good for a change, but when a whole set is based on these groups and more particularly certain albums of theirs, it gets very very boring... a person can't just keep stomping at the same beat for over 2 hours.. album lacks staying power, and i am sick of bhc as well... new rating 5/
Guest Syre
Necton fucking rocks. One of the best minimal psy acts ever. Their album says it all. 10 / 10.
Guest [Anonymous]
I strongly dislike this album bar 3 tracks (Can't remember what ones aart from the first)

Guest Raver_sick_of_bad_vibes_music
I think its one of the best release in progressive in 2001. Good music, with lots of tribal drums and good vibes all around . This is the best to listen in the morning. Best tracks 5 and 7!

Guest manicmagicmmushroomman[at]hotmai
no no no no no no... necton, COULD be so could... I love the unique style of kick they have, but this is NOWHERE near as good as other stuff they have released. There are simply no moments that stick out in ny memory, nothing to hold my train of thought. it really is a shame, as this is obviously very intelligent, carefully crafted music. The production quality is excellent, the idea progression is excellent, but the ideas suck!!! Mohican Circle style necton is far better to my way of thinking... Tribal AND inspired. Unfortunately, whilst this album is VERY tribal, it sadly lacks any inspiration. It could however be a guide to how to produce clever minimal psy, i just wish it was memorable! 2/10 to listen 10/10 to admire for production
Guest MG
Better luck next time, maybe they need to release more singles before an album. Perhaps if more artsists would release more singles before taking the plunge with an album...They have a few good ideas, but I didn't find this as mindbending as other albums, it is almost too housey on some tracks. That said, I like the Deliverence sample.
