Most of the names on this comp are probably new to most psyfans outside Scandinavia but they won't be for long. The cd starts out with a strong and sort of breakbeatish kind of track from Kiwa. An allright track but not really my favorite kind of style. The second track is Pelinpala which is really one of my favorites. They have releases on Exogenic and Kavator as well but this track is a bit different. It's also sounds breakbeatish but better than the first track, cause it's more funky and has a really nice groove. 3. track is Angel which starts out slow with a really long intro but at 1:31 the drum kicks in and the track takes off. I haven´t heard anything from this Greek fellow before but I really like his sound which is much more European. The 4. track is Squaremeat(Cosmic And Faggott) and they are back with a really wird tracks. Starts out with someone repeating letters of the alphabet, then a really nice bassline and a good kick. After that it just builds up in a very Finnish sort of way...yum yum. 5. tracks starts out with a thumping bassline that evolves from the very beginning along with those odd synths and tweaks that gives it that Scando feel to thisit. A hard, growling, darker and rougher track. 6. track is Texas Faggott but I don't like this one at all. They can do much better. The 7 . tracks is really nice and funky. Starts of with some guitar and some nice breaks and it has a lot is bird like sounds in the background. Some funny organ like happy melody comes in later and helps to make this a really good track. The last track on the disc in the best one for sure. A very funky, breaky start, when alongside appears what sounds like a genetically modified trumpet. And more plinky plonk sounds are to follow, processed children´s speech and more trumpets and rolling breaks ´n drums that vaguely remind of speed garagish rhythms. Goes in the same vein with the Finnish tracks. Well done! Can't wait for these guys to release on ZMA...need more. Overall I rate this comp. 6/10. Guest sulavasynapsi[at]yahoo[dot]com
This is mainly finnish undefined psydancesound to serious buttwiggling. I even find this kinda easylistening compared to some other finnish tunes which fry my brain. Loopus In Fabula fits in nicely, beautiful work Matteo.Welcome to Finland when the divine mushrooms are popping up. Thank you Jere for this happy sonic lobotomy. I'm grinning like an idiot and drool is dripping down my chin. Varoitus. Suomisoundi aiheuttaa pysyviä aivovaurioita. (Warning. Finnish psychedelic dancemusic causes permanent damages to your brain.) Kiwa's track is absolute stormer and yojalka's are favourite of mine. Recommended for the twisted-suomi-heads.
