Guest Baboon
Deep Dive Corporation - Beware Of Fake Gurus Artist: Deep Dive Corporation Title: Beware Of Fake Gurus Label: Jubilee Date: 2002 Track listing: 01. Gran Curazon 02. Borderland 03. Rhodes First 04. Turns Guru 05. Sister 06. On 07. Delhi News (Deep Dive Version) 08. PMFM's Guru 09. A Float 10. Talk Review: Deep Dive Corp. is back with an new album filled with different styled emotional ambient/downbeat tracks. It's released on Jubilee Records wich is an division of the greman well known label Free Form. Jubilee is a more clubby label then Free Form. The album starts with an chilly & funky track. Lots of latino influences, guitarr sounds and a male singing in some language(?) Track 2 is more an housey downbeat tune, and sounds more comercial. Very nice though, the female voice singing about fallen angels is beutiful. Track 3 also has some housey touches and a funky beat. 4th track is very short, only 2:29... wich is very bad couse the little you here from this one is very good, infact the best track on the album. Reminds on some levels of Shpongle. The indian voice fits great with this tribal tune. On track 5 we again join on to the more housey & clubby twist. Also here there's an male singing. Track 6 keeps the albums funky flow but with some guitarrs. Track 7 takes a littl! e different step with a more "India sound", with those guitarrs... but the beat is very much the same as the rest, funky & rhythmish. Track 8 is another short one and ofcourse also one of the better ones with the beautiful flow . Track 9 is a sunny rhythmic tune also with funky vibes, very nice one this one. I can imagine listening to this tune outside an early morning after an hard night. It reminds a bit of C.O.N. Sequencers stuff. 10th track ends this album with another clubby downbeat vibe, only difference here is that this one has an "secret bonus tune"... after about one minutes silence it starts again. But this is not really good... sounds mostly like some pornomatic funky-pop music. To finish of I think the whole album is very very Ibiza styled, becouse this is the kind of funky & housey ambient music they spin at the chillout clubs on Ibiza. Rating will be 6/10. I myself personaly can enjoy this album on some levels couse I'm a very open minded listener, as I like! most electronic music, depending on my mood. But at the same time this album might not really belong here... couse of the comercial & housey Ibiza style. I'm not surprised if most of you who'll read this probably hate this album and start yelling about why this "crap" is here. From one point of view I understand that... but at the same time it's still an known act to this scene whom just tried an different path, for that I think it deserves an place here after all. DeathPosture
Not as good as Blackmail Recordings, but it still has the high-quality DDC-stamp written all over it!... Nice indeed! I like to listen to this when I'm hung over! But's what's up with the akward jewel-case? I begin to see these more and more German releases.... I don't like 'em! I like this CD however... Not an instant classic, but it's nice! 6/
Guest sviskon
I would say this is better than Blackmail Recordings. Deep dive corp must be concidered as one of the very best in this genre. always evolving, experimenting with different styles etc... I give this 8/10. their first album is still my favourite. Guest Slidingtrancer
It's nice for those long winternights, but nothing to get too frantic about it I must say. I did buy it though... 6.5/10 ( last track is very nice)
