Guest AtomikElf
V/A - Black Rhino Artist: Various Title: Black Rhino Label: Flying Rhino Date: 1997 Track listing: 01. 08'28" Slinky Wizard : Sacred Fist 02. 07'44" Slide : Saturnalia 03. 07'57" Twisted Travellers : Strange Creatures 04. 11'15" Alienated : Not For Children 05. 08'31" Slinky Wizard : Fist Full Of Mutants 06. 09'22" Darshan : Black Magic 07. 06'48" Planet Slink : Suffocate Bullet 08. 11'44" Space Tribe : Ultraviolet Catastrophe Review: very dark compilation. groovy and grinding and twisted stuff in here. it kinda mellows a bit towards the end of the cd. it's also a bit short in my opinion. more for those hard-edged moods or for those who aren't afraid of the dark. pretty well structured tracks, but be warned it's dark in there.........6/
freak51
Definitely among the darkest releases ever. Some just plain unpleasant noises mar it, especially in "Not for Children", just sounds like noise to me. You're almost guaranteed not to enjoy this the first time you listen to it. However, a couple of months later you might pull it out again and realize that it actually freaks really well. #3, 5, 6 are very good tracks and at any given time there are one or two I really dislike. However, that one-or-two track set changes with every rotation, depending on the mood. I'll say this, it is a LOT of data. Since this era (late 1997), FR has changed its sound at least twice, so if you've only heard some of the progressive trance from 4th/5th Flight, you may be surprised. Guest yellajufe
This is still one of my favorite albums. It's DARK! I always listen to this cd when on my way to outdoor parties. It just gives you that night time adventure in the wild feeling. Track 4 is espically good. Try it guys!

Trance2MoveU
How can so much black act so white? Is that a f*cking gas mask he's wearing? You realize by "dancing" under a bridge you're reinforcing every fairy tale definition of trolls, right? These kids need to stop cutting and start getting some hugs from mommy and daddy. Sigh. Black. Other than Black Forest Cake the color black seems to be associated with negative things. Mmmmm....cake. Don't wanna get caught in a black hole. Don't want to be beaten black and blue. In the Catholic church I was taught that sins were represented by a black mark on your soul and God was keeping score. And you definitely don't want to be stopped by a cop in the US if you're black. Broken tail light? You might catch a few slugs for dat. But the color black is still one of the most popular colors out there. It's the absence of light and as Hollywood has taught us we need to fear the dark. Thing is we love the darkness and we love being scared so it's understandable why we gravitate towards the blackness. So Flying Rhino brought us the dark side of goa trance and I for one love it. Even the track titles evoke dark themes. The whole album maintains a dark atmosphere with eerie sounds sometimes demonic sounds. It's a musical nightmare that will make you uncomfortable at some point with screeching leads and hallucinatory synth riffs. Psychedelic as hell and I agree the first time you hear it you might not like it. I think this is also the only place you can find the BPC/Slinky Wizard collaboration as Planet Slink.
