Guest mrsyed
Okay this is definitely not the Infected Mushroom album I expected. The melody is there, the quality is there so what's missing, first of all the the structure of each of the tracks, the buildup is not so evident. It's too subtle at times. Almost veering towards the progressive slant. Second the adventure is missing or perhaps it's sometimes abstract. Seems like a lot of tinkering went on and it was somehow patched together on to a single track. Also the mind melting quotient is sadly missing that were so evident in the previous 2 albums. This means it's too dance friendly. I do see a light at the end of the tunnel with the last truly amazing mid tempo track with melody and uplift. I hope based on the interview that was posted on this webpage, this will be the new direction taken by the dynamic duo. Hopefully they won't go their separate ways by then. A technically accomplished albeit a more focused and subdued album which is not exactly favorable to the original fans of Infected mushroom. 8/
Guest Slinker
Just received it in the post this morning (probably the first copy in the UK)...Spellbinding music in every sense, very Psy and quite hard in places...but what really impressed me is the technical expertise mixed with musical genious that invades every track...KILLER! my favorites are `Spaniard` `Unbalanced` and `Funchameleon` oh hell everything!! 10/
Guest A J-M Jarre fan
hmm... I see that many people here are saying that this album needs several listenings to be well accepted. They may be right. Like Classical Mushroom, B.P. Empire doesn't sound 100% Psy Trance, everyone agrees. It's like they're getting away from the conventional Goa shore in introducing external elements. And here, they're using other styles, even more away than on CM. I felt influences from electronic musics aside from the techno scenes. Even some old fashioned things, though I can't give precise references. I'll keep listening, I think it's worth doing !
Guest Cyber Drive (a.k.a. GoBliN)
Infected mushroom did it again. this album is rocks on the dance floor. however the style is not my favorite one.. 10/
Guest Swede Indeed
Well, after the previous two albums my expectations were quite high. I don't know if it is good or bad yet. In some way I think it could have been better. But if I don't compare to Classical Mushroom this is a pure jewel. Never Ever Land is kind of boring in the first 5 minutes but then it really turns into a really good build up with the "Never ever land" sample and explodes for a while just to turn into the same boring ambient as in the begining. It could have been better, but it is still good. Unbalanced is one of the best tracks on the album. The only thing that irritates me is the nice guitar that is cut off at 6:17. Spaniard is very cool. Sounds like goa/psy (Oriental vibes). But it also has an anoying cut off. The track is really grooving up after the awsome "Aiaiaiaiaia", the hihat is on and then...then the track ends? BP Empire is a little dry, very hard and acid but no infected melody or scary sounds. The sample in the begining should have fit more properly in an AP track. Funchameleon is very funky. Nice bass there, but it doesn't fit well with the scary piano part (One of the best parts in the album) but hey, what would infected be if thety didn't experimented. Maby I will understand these "Mistakes" later. Tasty Mushroom is a nice track. Looove the sample and the melody part from 5:43 (That would rock on a dance floor) Noise maker is the worst track here. Ok, nice feeling but it doesn't go anywere, no explosion. PGM is soft and nice and really good, until 4:47 After that nothing happens. It could have ended there. The last track is ambient and Dancing with Kadafi is the best track on the album. Soooo nice melodies. Man, theese guys are true music makers. The begining with the the guitar, the piano and strings in the middle, rhe oriental part (w o w) and the upplifting happy part in the end. Track of the year. (So far). It is a good album overall and I can't give it less than 10/10. Classical is bettter though.
Guest Infected Mush...
Random Musing : it seems cut-off melodies is a trademark of Infected Mushroom. They may have their reasons to do that. I still believe nice fade out is better, anyway...
Guest FelipeLysergicProBrasil
UNBALANCED KILLS... 10/10 strenght and honor
Guest Søren Banjomus
My opinion...  Unbalanced is one of the best they have ever created, and so is Roll Us A Giant, but unfortunately this has not been included on the album..
Guest deepkick[at]aol[dot]com
First of all, this review is based on MY OPINION. I know its very different from The Gathering and Classical Mushroom, it is because it is BP Empire. I love it as much as The Gathering and Classical Mushroom. They never disappointed me. They are makin progress and I hope so. Â Cant wait to dance to BP Empire stuff! Â Peace Deep Kick
Guest i love classical mushroom
Last track is the best... Very "commerical", but still very good... Is the melodies stolen by IM or made by them?... The last melody in Dancing in Kadafi is really nice...
Guest sheedee54[at]yahoo[dot]com
i've loved this album since the first play. and again i'm blown away by the talent of this crew. man, how are the able to TWEAK sounds like this?? no other artist now is this far along at manipulating and evolving sound. put on some headphones and you'll hear beautiful musical ambrosia. your ears will experience sounds they've never tripped to before. to me, BP empire is brilliant in the details... it's more subtle and less formulaic than the last two releases (less "explosions"), but it packs a lot of depth and will floor your ass if combined with some good weed and headphones. doors opening left ear to right... the stony drops (i feel i must defend funkamillion, fucking stoniest track i've ever heard) and some classic goa builds and breaks (unbalanced). fuck yeah! keep up the brilliant tweaking IM, you digital masterminds, you....!!! see ya in san francisco again. -ab  definite 10/10. (but i'm the kind of person who wouldn't mind seeing IM take a step like simon posford did from hallucinogen --- shpongle... ie, step away from the limitations of psy trance)
Guest baltazar_dr[at]hotmail[dot]com
Huge disappointment for me. The only chills that I received from this album was Unbalanced (kicks ass!) and Spaniard + the beautiful last track Dancing with Kadafi. But the rest of the tracks I could have managed without, I even fell asleep when listening to it... This album isn't near The Gathering or Classical Mushroom. 5/
Guest erea51[at]hotmail[dot]com
I think IM left a reverb machine open when they burned the master, only good track is nosemaker , 5.5/
Guest PsyTranceRules.dk
First I was a little disappointed(do not compare this with Classical Mushroom - There's nothin' like it!), but when I heard the album the 2nd time - I liked it a lot..my favorite tracks "B.P.Empire", "unbalanced" but "Baby Killer(org.mix)" is still much better......8/
Guest Infected_CrusadeR
The album just get better more and more.. as we travel trough Never Ever Land's... but.. They sould have put Roll Us A Giant instead of BP Empire.. track.. but hey..
Guest lol[at]hotmail[dot]com
dancing with kadafi is tha best track here no doubt, but as a SONG (hey it doesnt make you dance) sucks big time ...
Guest Rumz
Better than i expected.. but it just doesnt take off like the other infected albums... a bit low on the ol inspiration, apart from dancing with kadafi, which reminds me of the messenger (infected and jorg)
Guest Shivashantii[at]hotmail[dot]com
What the fuck do they think they are doing?!?!?! Wheres all that infected energy? Naahhhhh..... Really desapointing

Guest goakhan
Very 'QUALITY' music from IM. The atmosphere on the album is so good and intens. I think people have to listen to this kind of music (3d stereo fx music) first on a good headphone to see the quality of IM's B.P.eMpire. You feel like your standing in the music. So fucking good is it!! And then you will appreciate them for giving us an spacy, atmospheric and funky album from The Masters.
Guest astral[at]fio.samara[dot]ru
Great work!! I like this album!!! 11/
Guest contact[at]digital808[dot]com
InFUCKING sane! Unlike all the other recent artists who are making "minimal" sounds aka bore-me-to-fucking-hell techno, IM continues to use 3,000+ layer track compositions which are full on hard and trancey. Â IF you have never heard any Infected Mushroom CDs then get this one to start with. It might not carry the energy that their previous ones did but its fucking insane! It follows the tradition of loading each track with incredibly complex and trancey melodic elements. It has wicked wicked vocals that are as appropriate as it gets. When I first heard this album I thought it was okay. Then I listened to it a couple more times and it started hitting me. My mind started opening all the complexities and it just got better and better. Its beautiful and I think it entirely up to their standards. Those who are bitching about this album, keep on listening to it. YOu will begin to feel it. . . Filip
Guest davidtolsn
my main problem with these songs is that they don't "flow." it seems infected songs often have this problem. sure, some of the stuff sounds cool, but it isn't cohesive - it's just a whole bunch of cool sounding stuff thrown together. the thing that made so many tracks on the gathering and classical so good is that they kept with the same theme. and there's even more cheesy samples on this one... 8/
Guest Leon_de_Bourgy[at]yahoo[dot]com
Would all you people stop complaining that it's not up to the previous 2... We'll have to face that the classical CD was one of the best melodic Goacd's everand that there won't be a second! Everybody evolves, and so does IM. And please send some copies to Belgium, since we had to wait half a year for the Classical CD and I'm not planning on doing that again with BP empire... Guest smokeBuddha
OK, I finally got the CD, and I can't for the life of me figure out what everybody is raving about. This CD is not good. Not that it's bad. But it definitely does not deserve anything close to a 10/10. I'm not gonna go into technical details, I just don't like it! I'd give it at the very most a 6/10.
