Guest Protex Midget
Kilophil - Brontophon / Protoporn Artist: Kilophil Title: Brontophon / Protoporn Label: Plastik Park Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. Brontophon 02. Protoporn Review: This release by Plastic Park is very dissapointing to be honest. Track 1 (4/10), is an extremely minimalsitc tune. Verry little developement through out the entire track, and the only thing on top of the kick & Bassline, is a little bit of percussion work. Another negative thing about this track, is that it has a very dry sound (if you know what i mean). Track 2 (6/10), is an improvement compared to the first track. First of all, the production is better, and the sound is not dry like in track 1. But again, there is very little developent, and only when the track reaches 4 minutes, it starts to become a decent tune. So, minimal haters stay away... Minimal lovers: Stay away too... Guest athakos[at]hotmail[dot]com
This is one of the best 12'' plastic park has released last year. both tracks writen by dj philip (plastic park/sunset) and dj killian(xv kilist)...but you have to catch how the tracks are building up and not expect everything to come easy specially track 1 (9/10) the best one here has a unic sound and an unbelieveble way to build up, in the last's minutes it causes a chaotic atmosphere with all this percussions and the growly noises, track 2 (7/10) is more like xv kilist with the well known horsy bass but builds up constatly like track 1, both tracks are dark and deep and minimal, excelent dj tools for minimal lovers... unit_
I must say I agree more with athakos. I find this to be very good, especially song number one. The break after about 4 minutes is just so great! Though I can understand that some may find this abit too minimal! But for me it's just lovely. The second track is ok aswell but I don't think it's that speciall. But never the less, if you enjoy minimal you should look into this release and especially Brontophon.
