Review:

The second album from well known ManMadeMan, released on Transient. This album

fell in my taste at once, you'll find out that it has an various mix of

styles, there's almost something for everyone here. It kicks of with "Single

Cell", an technoish minimal pounder, great atmosphere, an slow and hard bass.

Good for warming up! Second track, "Palladium" is pretty much like the first,

only faster, more evil and slighly more psychedelic, kinda technoish also.

Track 3 "Gather Information" is one of my favourites here, fast kicking beat,

I think it sometimes sounds a little like the beat in "Shamanix" by

Hallucinogen, but just the beat! ;) I also like the quirking industrial

sounds, this one is more psy-minimal, not the same techno attitude here as

first two. So then to forth one, "And All That" may come as a chock for many

of you, the style breaks totaly here and ManMadeMan choose to bring you some

club trance. Not much to say, sounds much like any club trance I think, not

saying !

that it's bad! very harmonic and nice indeed. Track 5 "Get Up The Beat" also

takes a different path than the others, this is a funky tech-house track, very

danceble. On track 6 "Subway" we're back on regular track again. Progressive

trance at it's best, fast kicking beat, gnarling effects and a scary and

psychedelic flowing atmosphere. Track 7 "Amuzin" starts out with a long bass

intro with various fast ripping drums. Then at the middle a scary melodie

grows on to the kicking beat. 8th one, "Cell Division" is one of the best on

this album, starts with an swooshing sound and then a slow acidlike beat,

completed with the female voice singing (or what ever you would like calling

it :) it's an great tune for both home listening and warming up the audiance

at an party. Last track out is "Breeze", ManMadeMan wisely choose to finich of

with an great chill-out morning tune. Very harmonic and emotional track...

beautiful ending to a great album. This album needs to be listend to befo!

re you buy it. But it's for sure an album worth being in any collection out

there.

i get this cd about 2 weeks ago... in first listen i didnt like it to much...

but looking closer, i can tell u that..

track 2 has a very monotonous base... very hipnotic thing.. good bass and

production... dark track.

track 3 gather information, is faster (145 bpm) , and its more psychedelic than

the first two tracks. it has a little taste of house.. here.

track 4 is really cheezy.. club trance .. i think its pure shit! 142 bpm

track 5 is a 129 bpm track.. its not psytrance for sure! idomt know why track 4

and 5 are here... are manmademan trying to sound more commercial?

track 6 is more progressive track, but with some real psychedelic samplesaround

track 7 has a very monotonous base... with atrshed melody in middle-end... some

nice sinths thats al...

track 8 has some crap vocals... but has a good rithim too... too slow for my

tas.. its in 120 bpm, but good production. a little bit monotonous too.

track 9 is a chill out track

at overal i give this cd 4/10... its really sad, but its true... its more

commercial than ever.. and ideas are not really new and fresh... so just buy

it if u listen first and like it!

i didn't like this album at all.. when you are a point gaurd, would you be good

in the paint?... i think this analogy should be applied to this album, this is

progrssive sure.. but for me this resonates too much sanitation, i am sure

there are some who dig it, and i respect that.. but for me this one just

doesn't have IT hypnotic sure... but quality??? not in my book...

holy shit! i've tried to play it to the end but i gave up at track 8. ...the

"album" is like a random mixture of 80's pop music, house, bad clubtrance

and...sorry i cant stand it.

it's a bit like a cheese sandwich--tracks 4 & 5 are the cheese surrounded by

the tougher bread and butter.definitely a disappointment after 'love

technology' but they do redeem themselves with the luscious last track

'breeze' which could have fitted nicely on the first album. overall too

mainstream [and techno] to be satisfying.

the problem with this album is that it's released on transient. russell at

transient should travel a bit to japan, mexico, and south africa and see that

psychedelic trance is still alive and kickin, and that commercial club trance

is not all there is. (seems like that's the state of england these days). if

another label, such as digital structures, had put this one out, maybe there

would have been pressure in an entirely different direction. manmademan have

fantastic talent and production skills, but this album does not do them

justice. (there are a few excellent tracks though.)

This is innovating stuff! Trance comes in many shapes and this is a good one!

Try to be open minded and not only listening to just minimal trance. This

album has a very well balanced strategy. It begins good and it end even

better...yeah. I can agre that manmademan has done other superb realeses for

an example the hex e.p with the awsome tune hex realesed from Matsuri, this is

much different but very good. There is only one cheesy track and that is " and

all that" but keep on the work and dont immitate , innovate.....peace love and

stinking tee-shirts-----

great tunes -much like lovetechnology- but fewer vocals this time around with

some up tempo tunes to goove to, but still holds the sound we all love that

manmademade produces!!!-FR style!

Blah :)

This album has some very nice tracks (my fav is Amuzin, quite catchy, I love

the female voice sample and the nice rhythm & melodies), also some cheesy

moments like tracks 4 and 5. Khm, excuse me but what is this, Frankie

Knuckles? And T5 sounds more like Tech-House (although not so bad Tech-House

:)... If all the tracks were made in the same fashion like for example Subway,

Amuzin and Gather Information it would have been an innovative psytrance

album, I mean it's innovative this way too but not im psytrance! Final

verdict: 6.5-7/10.

But I'll watch out for more ManMadeMan releases, they sure have pottental!

Let's just hope they use it in the psychedelic way...
