Guest Acidhive Posted January 17, 2001 Posted January 17, 2001 V/A - Chakra Yellow Artist: Various Title: Chakra Yellow Label: Nova Tekk Date: 2000 Track listing: 01. 07'42" Digital Sun : The Attack 02. 09'07" Johann Bley : Ghostride 03. 09'36" Chi-ad : Redivider (Rmx) 04. 08'10" Midi Miliz : Rent A Plant 05. 05'08" DJ Nitrogen : This Is My Fate 06. 09'54" Slap : Wah Wah 07. 07'53" Eargear : Rumburak 08. 07'38" Dragon Master : Sidewinder 09. 06'02" Hara Gobi : Don't Panic 10. 07'31" Ouija : Infectious (MC Rmx) Review: I bought this after getting a look at the tracklisting and decided it was worth the money. And it is. Starting off with a great digital sun track, which is kicking hard and takes us a little back to golden goa days. Johann Bley delivers a dark sounding track with guitars again. I think his song 'Dream' is better, but this is not bad at all. The redivider remix is pretty reminiscent of the original, perhaps a little faster. The Midi Miliz track is exactly what you'd expect. Dark, and brooding building trance, which does the job nicely. DJ Nitrogen's tracks always feature a lot of 303, and I even find the first tune that is played with this familiar. Can't quite place it though. Not bad, but not something to stand up and scream: Yes!! Slap delivers a hard funky track with a (somewhat) annoying occasional squealing sound. Not my fave here. Eargear does it better with a dark pumping, hard and scratchy track. Dragon Master is a bit like that, only lighter. Hara Gobi delivers a quit! e funky track as usual. Ouija shuts the whole thing down with a funky track with some acoustic guitar samples. Overall, pretty good, and with a playing time over 78 minutes well worth the money. 8/10 from me here. Quote

Guest kadafi Posted December 6, 2001 Posted December 6, 2001 Hmmm...German psy-sounds are normally of my favourites...but this is not a very good CD to my opinion...it has minimal,old-skool,funky and clubby soundz all on 1...though I like some of the songs: The Digital Sun track is very typical (not renewing, but good)... I like the 'rattlesnake soundz' in it. The Johann Bley (guitars of course)-track isn't extrEmely good, but still one of the best he has ever made...finally a good buid-up from Johan! the kick is pounding, the melody good, but overused (similar to the rest of his stuff)...My favorite must be HARA GOBI's DON'T PANIC (Thé best track I have ever heard of Mr. Dilge!!! But my friends don't like it, so I guess it's my personal taste what a pitty...) Eargear&Dragon Master aren't bad...the rest of the compil is kindof boring or over-highhatted... 5/10 Quote
