Guest l.secchinatto
V/A - Chapel Perilous Artist: Various Title: Chapel Perilous Label: Sphere Date: 2000 Track listing: 01. 08'40" GMT : Negative Gain 02. 08'42" Codex : Subliminal 03. 06'59" In R Voice : Breakthrough 04. 08'37" Mekano : Land Of Pu Puu 05. 08'26" Distortion Orchestra : Varda 06. 07'33" Pong : Exact 07. 07'30" Codex : Invasion Of The 5th Dimension 08. 08'50" Sensphere : Distortion 09. 07'49" Dark Soho : Suckobus Review: I was waiting... this comp. since July. Ok I was waiting... the In R Voice track... I realy love the Kozlov work, He made the perfect european style, for me.... So, can anyone tell me, how Kozlov made the KILLER BASS in his tracks ??? He stayed making psy-trance and parties in Russia with the project Ressonance Club.... and for now he is in London.. making the In R Voice tracks..... nowadays, I think In R Voice have some unreleaseds tracks... like Emotion Code (Resonance, unreleased) So let´s talk about the Chapel Perilous... the first track GMT (aka Deviant Species) it is GOOD.... the perfect track to starting this comp. This comp. is full of nighttime tracks. I bought this one.... and I was realy dissapointed... So I gave this CD to a great friend of mine....(birthday present) The bests tracks are from In R Voice and DarkSoho, this comp. is in the same line of Voltage and Atom Smasher.... good tracks from good bands and suckers tracks from unknow bands..... For me the best tracks are: 1,3,9. But... I realy want to talk about CODEX.... It is good, this guy have good ideias to make sounds.... and your debut album 'Stereo Culture' is avaible in november on Sphere Records...... another good track is from PONG, I never heard this band but they gave me a good surprise..... Ok... Chapel Perilous is good comp. to listen at home. Note???? I don´t know.... Get it! Maybe 6/10 or 7/10..... I prefer the Atom Smasher. Guest shulklupper
very confusing, and very humorous review I haven't heard the album - but i'll give 9/10 for the first review
mars
Almost all the tracks are good. The whole compilation is dark. The GMT is OK, The codex tracks are OK, the In R Voice track is very good, the distorsion Orchestra tune too. then the Mekano and the Pong trax are too minimalist, and not funny. The Sensphere tune is very very good and powerful. This artist has only released a few tracks and he's getting better And better. So this track is really weird, fast And drak, perfect for the dancefloor with all those strange sounds in the second half...I liked it a lot. The last track is Dark soho's Suckobus: it's angry, dark, powerful, and twisted at the end - really good. This compilation is a good one but it's for people who really like dark stuff. 6.5/10, and more for the last 2 tracks.
shahar@isratrance
Well guys, it?s weird that no one mentioned the fact that the sound in this release is really fucked up- I think something went wrong with the mastering here, and it?s a shame, as some of the tracks here are really good. Standing out are the GMT track, In R Voice as usual, and especially Mekano and Sensphere. Dark Soho are featured with another dark one as well (get their album). The Codex tracks are good as well, but are the big casualties of the sound problem. I guess we?ll have to wait for the album. It?s really a shame, as I said, as this is the maturest of Sphere?s compilations.

danger
I agree with Shahar that the outstandings are Mekano and Sensphere. The "melody" in Sensphere track is a bit boring after a while. But Mekano is one of my favourite track nowadays, very kewl and crunchy!!!
Guest Rumz
DArk and scary like the catcher album, the sound is a bit messy at times... perhaps the mastering mentioned above.. or maybe it was intentional, anyhows a good cd, with the best tracks last 3, codex, sensphere and of course dark soho. overall 7/10... Guest moander[at]media[dot]mit[dot]edu
I agree about the sound quality... this cd is recorded WAY too high, even dimming the bass barely helps. Besides that sensphere rocks and so does in r voice
Guest asshopper
Sensphere : Distortion is a true KILLER... it worths the whole CD.
