This compilation (as it's name suggests) only features ambient and chill out tracks, from some goa artists, and other trance and techno names like Astral Projection (goa), Ultrabass (techno) and Delerium (regular trance) etc. This compilation features a whole lot of beautiful songs, and if chilling out is your thing (and let's be frank: we all want to chill sometimes huh?) you can't go wrong here. Just listen to naturelizer's tracks and drift away on slow, melodious vibes.... Silent Earth is great too!! Ermmmm in fact all the tracks are great!! I was pleasantly surprised when I listened to this for the first time... I've got nothing further to add. Oh yeah, maybe one advice: Get this comp!! This is where you can go for all the best ambient tracks!! 9/10 from me here.
spacemonkey
I am not really into ambient but this comp. is really great. Nice relaxing tunes, easy beats and it really brings sayed brings the kind of atmosphere you emagine on sunrise in India in a diserted ancient temple. Guest fheierli[at]mails[dot]ch
Vol. 3 is a very good part. I have in my collection all 6 vols, and vol. 3 is one of the better. You can find here soft trance-tracks (Delerium, Neuromantic Trance), chill-out of the techno-scene (Ultrabass), psychedelic pieces (Celtic Cross, Astral Projection) or wonderful oriental tracks (Sayed, Naturelizer). This different styles makes the comp. interesting. But vol. 3 is not the best. Vol. 1 and 2 are much better (but not described here). On vol. 1 you can find psychedelic and oriental music, with vocals, flute and other instruments from the orient. Vol. 2 is amazing. Ambient-tracks of ten years (1988-1998, no joke). But when you not like music, with very much oriental influences (sometimes only with Zitar and turkish vocals), then is better, when you don't buy it. The sounds on vol. 2 is very dark: weird zitar and flute-melodies with synthesized prays. Atmospheres like a lost temple in the jungle. Very trippy. Another point: the covers of all volumes are very beautiful. Good work. Rating: 10/10 for vol. 1, 10/10 for vol. 2, 9/10 for vol. 3.
