Guest Stormbringer
Tristan - Collaborator Artist: Tristan Title: Collaborator Label: Spiral Trax Date: 1998 Track listing: 01. Tristan And A Green Nun : Babylon N Thing 02. The Embassy : Diplomatic Immunity Review: When we talk about classic records on this site we generally talk about releases not even ten years old! This ep, which I consider to be a classic, was released in 1998 and that was yesterday!!! Ha ha! I still think it deserves to be called a classic because I can´t think of so many other records that I´ve played so much during my thirtytwo years of existance as this one. You might have guessed it allready? Atleast one of the two tracks will get a 10/10, which one? :-) The a-side, "Babylon N´ Thing" (7/10) is a collaboration between Tristan and R. Trevor. I don´t think this track is spectacular in any way but I still like it a lot. The sound is something of a mix between the classic Goasound and that which followed after 1997-1998. It´s semimelodic with lots of energy, not too far away from the 3D-vision- or Moon Spiritsound of today. "Diplomatic Immunity" by Tristan and Martyn Nooy" (10/10) is the killer I really want to tell you about! It´s a track that´s divided into three parts. The first part is rather minimal with some similarities to the Creamcrop sound. "Diplomatic Immunity" is creaking and squeaking in a way that not even Hux Flux did at that time. The second part is the climax of the track in my opinion with some sort of irregular almost random high tones. It´s pretty mental and daft but I just love it!!! For a minute or so you think you´re listening to some sort finnish mayhem but it´s brittish! I just can´t get enough of that hysteric and really crazy part of the track. The third and last part is very minimal at first with very few sounds, but towards the end it gets more and more energetic again. This is the best release so far from Spiral Trax International in my opinion.
