Apparently, my e-mail provider (Verizon) had put some sort of spam block on e-mails from Japan, and he had to work with Verizon to lift the block. I finally did purchase the re-mastered album this week, and it sounds great. I also suggested that he put his DD music on Bandcamp, but don't know if that will ever happen.
