mars Posted September 28, 2000 Author Posted September 28, 2000 Eat Static - Critical Mass Artist: Eat Static Title: Critical Mass Label: Atomic Date: 2000 Track listing: 01. 08'32" Critical Mass 02. 08'13" Second Sight Review: Critical Mass is very dark, quick, not my cup of tea. Just all right for a minimalistic trance party! 3/10 (maybe more). second Sight (released on Serial Killaz / Atomic) is very industrial, the sounds are always very synthetic, plastic, and the result is good. 7/10 overall (7+3)/2 = 5/10 Quote
Jeto Posted September 28, 2000 Posted September 28, 2000 This Ep has a very nice sound to it... like mars said.. very synthetic.. minimal.. got some good breaks..and very monotone basslines...sounds just going diffrent places.. it breaks into a very breakbeat feel...specially that snaredrum... Side B is very industrial... thats all i can say for that... overall 4/10.. but thats just my opinion... Quote
Guest goa_2000[at]mail[dot]ru Posted September 28, 2000 Posted September 28, 2000 I don't think it's really a good single. "Critical mass" is using the same sampels during all the song 3/10 As for the second track --- it's O.K. 8/10 SO i would give 6/10 to the whole single Plur! Quote

Guest andrescottin[at]mac[dot]com Posted January 24, 2001 Posted January 24, 2001 great stuff. dark pounding psytekno. critical mass is intense, with industrial sounds and repetitive accents (every eight measures) that are a blast to play around with when mixing. second sight is also excellent. dance-floor music. 8.5/10 Quote
Basilisk Posted October 2, 2001 Posted October 2, 2001 Eat Static have much better material out there... these tracks are too straight and tame. Quote
