Guest Diepeveen
Lemurians - Crystal Mind Artist: Lemurians Title: Crystal Mind Label: Shiva Space Technology Date: 2002 Track listing: 01. Lemuria 02. A Crystal 03. Inside You 04. Shining With You 05. A Dancing Snake 06. Making Action 07. A Connection 08. To The Well 09. Sliding Through 10. The Keyhole Review: Well... The long awaited album from Lemurians has finally reached me... But unfortunatly i'll have to admit that i was a bit dissapointed! There are some positive elements on this piece of plastic, but there's just too many bad things to make it worth to buy. One thing that spoils things pretty much, is that all the tracks sounds pretty much the same - very dark and in my opinion quite boring. The tracks goes on and on with the same kick and some psychedelic sounds over it. No cool build-ups, no melodies AND no climaxes!! When i first listened to this album i didn't realise that i had finished because i was sitting, waiting... just for a small climax! Now... that was the bad things, let's get to the positive! The first "track", Lemuria, is just floating psychedelia that grabs you and take you to higher levels! It may be only 1:14 minuttes long, but it's sure as hell the best thing on this cd! The production is smooth and nice and the sounds are clear and quite psychedelic! There are also some quite experimental elements in the music, especially around the two last tracks, with sounds that kinda breaks the music into pieces. Weither i like it or not, i do not know, but I see it as a positive thing when people are open-minded and try new things out! There are three tracks that stands out as being quite cool tracks. In fact nr. seven, A Connection, is REALLY COOL! The track is more minimalistic than the others, but in the end it has something that sounds a little like a climax, and that makes a HUGE difference! Really powerfull... The other two tracks i like is 3 and 6! My conclusion must be: This cd is not interresting enough to buy, unless you like VERY dark monotone music... It could be heard for it's experimental tracks, but they don't really stand out for me. Final verdict: 5/

Guest Derrayld and out of control
This albumn rocks. Take away everything you know and revert back to a progressive late night dance floor beats. Phat and psychedelic nothing wrong there. But yes I do agree with the fact that it is different. But having been mastered by infected mushroom you`d expect something a bit different. Everything can`t be the same. I can tell you this cd does rock night time dance floors.
Guest none
WELL I agree, very boring sound here, i heard them also at a party, its not really goa, nore psy trance, just bum bum kick drum and so on. Guest [Anonymous]
It's an album for the dancefloor I guess - not for the listening at home,car,headphones...... it's not dissapointin - but not surprising either. You can hear that alot of work had put in to it - it's not obvious he first time though....
Guest GoaGabba
This album is a nice positive change. First of all, nice little touch with the track list which makes up a poem. T1 is a nice atmospheric intro to the album. T2, takes the queue from T1, and starts with a nice rocking beat. T5, is on of my fav's here. Excellent bassline tune. The next good stand out track is T7. It is a hectic song, which breaks into a really calm paradise before going off again. And then there's T9. Doesn't matter where I play it (at home, car, proper sys), that base line is a bit hectic. I really like this album. From the touchy feely cover, the tracklisting poem, to the incredible music, this album is a must have. 8/
Guest [Anonymous]
Since this album is mastered in the infected studios i thought it would be good, but it's not!! it sucks

Guest Murdock
Well, let me say this: there's killers, there's fillers and then there's music, somewhere in between, that will always do well on the dancefloor. That kinda music has a decent quality, but misses the absolute gimmic. But I don't mind. Artist do not always have to produce absolute hits, these guys just make decent dancefloor psytrance. Fav tracks Inside you and Making Action Rating: 7,5/10 Greetz!!

alpha
wow.. nice stuff all tracks are very powerful with a nice dark atmosphere. many tracks first build up, then drop to a silent part which builds and builds and then breaks to a strong climax which sounds soooo goood.. the production is really good too.. overall this is some of the best stuff i've heard this year score 9/

Guest device6[at]hotmail[dot]com
I think that the key to this album is the sheer quality of the sound and production used, and the careful layering of textures in tracks like 'a dancing snake'. These guys have made some really powerful baslines and some beautiful sounds, but they perhaps need to take these further. In taking a few more risks and they will be brilliant, but sometimes it feels like they are just churning out formula stuff to fill the album (track 2 and the final track are pretty dull and monotonous in this respect). Still overall, a very good and thankfully non-cheesy psytrance release 7.5/10.

Guest Le Lotus Bleu
Lemuria open up this album with a brief violin intro quite dark & emotionnal. A Crystal pursues the dark emotionnal trend of Lemuria, with some percus in the rythmic. Inside is a nice quite complex track with a big density of sounds during the track with for example some 303 lines, some proggy rythmn, discret percussions, a rumbling bassline in the beginning, a synth line a la Hux Flux, Pigs In Space (Oforia) & lots of echoe or reverb on tones. Track 4 is more dull, mat for me despite the sweeet hypnotic melody on the end. Same remark for track 5 which differs by the presence of a proggy rythmic Atmos alike & some hints of didgeridoo sounds, more enjoyable. Making Action has big kickin? coppled with a mad triangle. The main melodic sound is a bouncy distorted one which appears at the mid-break and which depth tone raises on the end., a good one. A Connection alternates unpolished sequences with sweet synth lines, weird. To The Well, have a nice moment with gothic voices ,except this the global content is highly weird psychedelic with an insistent feeling. This one depends a lot the mood you?re in. Plenty of energy resides in Sliding Through with boisterous, sharp & metallic tones on the end ; also some cool voices speaking or distorted samples embellish the titlle all along the track. The Keyhole is very funny with lots of cowboy gunshots samples, powerfull & adrenalistic ; the bassline reminds me a Deedrah?s track on his album Self Oscillation. Favorites :3,6,9,10. Mark :7,5/
