All the tracks are wicked but the best is the crow . Minimal dark side of

psy-trance at the best quality. Not to miss this album for any reason. Guys

A year later, I can still get into this CD for a few tracks at a time. Which

tracks? Doesn't really matter, most are pretty samey. However, almost each

one has a momentary cringe factor somewhere. For example, the samples destroy

the otherwise excellent Devil's Night. But the good parts are perfect for

stompage. I give this one 8/10 - but please make another; this vibe reminds

me of an updated early Future Prophecy and I think this outfit has a killer

record in it, dying to get out.

I agree with "O" above. I don't like some bullshit annoying high-pitch

melodies cluttering up my trance. This is very techno-minimal, but with a

magic x-dream-like touch which take the loops up and down an octave a bit,

which gives it just the right amount of unboringness and danceness: which is

the essense of trance. Oh, but at the same time I don't think these guys lack

any psy-weirdness. Perfect balance. Good music.

Only heard oversexed Succobus and since it is told to be the best track on the

album, I think this album SUCKS big time! Where is the Wizzy Noise from tracks

such as 'Dark City','This Is The End','Twisted Love','Brain Machine',etc.?

I like it alot. Ok the tracks are very similar but some of them are different

and those are the good ones. Tracks 1-5 are ok but lacks of heaviness with

those synths. Oversexed succubus is the best among them. Infernal pod is

awsome with that typical to wizzy sound at 5:45 that i love. It makes the

track sound like a big pumping machine (well it is made by machines). Then

comes X-panded, the jewel on this album. Darker and heavier than all of the

tracks. Loooove that sound at 5:32!!!! Devils Night is also cool with it's

different rythm, funky. The Crow is nothing special but fits in well with the

first 5. So since I love this mechanic trance and can't live without it it

must be a 10/10 rating.

I love this one! Crystal clear sounds, very futuristic and high-tech feel...

Elegant and powerful (solid, phat basslines and energetic effects), deep and

i bought this cd after having heard the track shores of freedom which is a

superb track, at the first listen i was dissapointed, but after 4 or 5 times

of hearing this cd, i was pracitcali in the sky! I LOVE THE BRAKES!!!

the only thing that i dont like about wizzy noise is their kick drums... and I

OH MY FUCKING GOD!!! This is Psy-tek through and through! Oversexed Succubus

can compete with any X-Dream track (and I'm a die hard X-Dream fan!). I feel

blessed that they are going to perform in a forest here in Los Angeles on

4/20/2003.

I hear Wizzy Noise is no more. Shame. So I thought I would go back to their debut and have a listen. Reading some of the reviews here describe this as minimal. Ugh. I suppose that's true, but there is something else here. It's very dark and atmospheric while retaining it's pumping sound. I like the way they place there samples in this album keeping the mood going. Boring at times? Maybe, but the effects make me think of a futuristic wasteland where you have to bundle up against the wind. The squirty bass and acid in Plastic Mold and Hybrid Model One is very nice.

 

Like anything else that is almost 13 years old, it's tough to stay relevant. If you compare it to the sometimes over the top melodies and acid today it would be like wearing white after labor day. You just don't do it. Oversexed Succubus and Infernal Pod are two reasons I hate minimal. I will also say this...the album for me takes a nose dive in the second half, because they seem to have forgotten what made the first have so tangible. Not a classic by any stretch, but they've got such a good groove going a lot of the tracks still work for me. If I was driving at night, this would be so sweet.
