Review:

A good deep,dark,minimal/progressive compilation from the warm house of the

young denish label CreamCrop Records and mastered by the capeble hands and

mind of Jens Bungaarg.the line up is very imprresive composed of well

established acts that have already prooven them selvs in prior releases .#1

Triplex: Kaviria, a good opening track,slow,deep,nice percautions,fat

bassline, strong kick and smooth groove. #2 Igneous sauria: Thick rubber, cool

samples and funky rythems yet another gam by this greek act .#3Front Minimale:

Bugs in my acid,another danish act(cujorius one),very minimal,deep and

panitraiting track. #4Yumade: Time stress,the french madmen-pierre&laurent

with a rather minimal track and no surprise-its a sweet song .#5Vaishiyas:

Icelander, great song and briliant progression-the track changes three times to

create a "set like"feeling to it-check it out!! #6Flaxid: Glukke,this is a

Vaishiyas side project-!!exelent night stomper for partyies. #7Etnoscope:

Vattensorja, with a bad track here i didnt care for it-it doesnt sound right

and it doesnt fit in at all. #8Navajo & Jens: Dark age, best track on this

comp-weird effects, twisted pumping stuff from this denish psychoz. #9Paps:

Electro caution, stephan with a groovie track as usual-but far far from his

best(mabey he smoked a little bit too much digital hash...)#10Navajo:

Dreamcatcher, rapping things up with another stomper, rest asure that all those

navajo weiked effects are there!!! overall i'de say that this is a decent

buy.stand outs:1,2,5,6,8 the entire comp gets a suitble 8/10. BOOM SHIVA

This is a deep, grooving progressive comp from Creamcrop, which reminds me a

bit of The Next Levels. Triplex start off the journey, with a good starting

point for this album. Greek Igneous sauria continue, with their well known

minimal groove. Front Minimale is one of my fav's on this compil. Very strong

basslines, and a good structure. Yumade's track is okay, and reminds me of

the new Klanguage style. Vaishiyas and Flaxid are the same people, and these

two songs do sound similar to each other. The next few songs that caught my

attention where the two Navajo tracks. A lot of people are voting these into

their sets, and are creeping up a lot on favourite lists. The Paps track, is

as the name may suggest, an experiment in Electro minmal psy. It's good and

interesting. From me 7/10, there could have been something else in there.

The Next Levels, are being sold for £1.69 on chaosunlimited.co.uk. Why don't

you check that one out. At that price, you won't need to download, this. And

just wait for this one to go down in price.

Bom

Creamcrop are one of the planet' finest purveyors of the stripped-down trance

sound, and this CD is full of immaculately-produced deep and distant slices of

progressive bliss. Triplexs Kavirna is low set and with an almost shuffled

feel, very desolate and deep stuff... nightmare future sort of thing. The

tempo is a little muddy but this adds to the overall fear factor. Igneous

Saurias Thick Rubber is very busy with neat electro-twists on the percussion,

the backend is typically sparse with the track's energy coming from the

well-layered snares, rims and hats. Impressive stuff. Front Minimale's Bugs In

My Acid is a quirky and grinning beast, the mechanical pop-pop keeping things

bubbling along while some very creepy noises filter in and out over the top.

Yumade's Time Stress is quirky as anything, with distorted stabs sitting in

the mix. There's a lot going on in this one, and the effect is of vintage

techno and really keeps the pace upbeat, jiggy and funky. Vaishiyas' Icelander

is another oddfellow, sort of a George Clinton vibe with seamless changes,

twists at every corner, and a totally unique flavour, while Etnoscope's

Vattensorja has production that sounds like it's playing a field and a half

away at some black acid outdoor party. Navajo & Jens' Dark Age is very

in-ya-face, with cascading sounds building up the intensity then gently

letting it subside, and again the stabs and analog swirls used are crazy

stuff. Paps' Electo Caution is a walk along the bad side of town, with

filtered beats going crazy and gradually giving a disjointed, schizophrenic

vibe and finally Navajo's Dreamcatcher is a dark and angry boiler, sending

shivers down the spine and having a very infectious groove. An impressive

release from Creamcrop, showing that minimal doesn't have to be all about

stripped down trance that adds a snare every so often to keep things moving.

This is genuinely different, innovative stuff that's close to forming a new

style all of its own.
