Review:

During the past 6-7 years, Why Not rec. has delivered several Destination Goa

albums, some very good, some very bad. Number 10 is out now, and it is one of

the better.

The album has a very modern sound, danceable, non-fluffy songs made by some of

the biggest artists - GMS, Man With No Name, S-Range, Astral Projection, Logic

Bomb, Hux Flux, Chi-ad and more.

It's a very good record, where S-Range delivers the best song - "Serial

Overtypes" - a dark and energizing psytrance song, and Quirk the worst one.

Other very good songs are: GMS feat. Chicago - "On A Mission From God" - a

stomping, full-on psytrance songs that tends to be a little too much full-on.

Man With No Name - "Teleport (MWNN 2000 Remix)" - a remix of the classic song,

I like this one better. It's quite alike the original, MWNN has just freshened

up the sound a bit. Chi-ad - "X-Isle" - I got pretty amazed when I heared this

song the first time - it's very melodic, not "Astral-melodic" more like

"Dimension 5-melodic" - complex melodies. Hux Flux - "Errorhead" - A

psychedlic and cool song from a small crew.

Overall is this a good album, the destination goa-series has lost it's

commersial sound and this CD is a proof. The album is not a masterpiece, but

brings a couple of listening-hours in the winder darkness. 7.5/10

Yep, S-Range's "Serial Overtypes" is definitely the winner here... Dark,

progressive and building all the time... A fucking masterpiece! The Logic

Bomb/Hux Flux trax are superb as well. MFG's "Welcome To The Edge" is also

great. Some of the Passenger sound is heard, mixed with both old and fresh

influences. There are many bad tunes here. Astral Projection, MWNN and

Chi-A.D. have made no progress at all - it still sounds like 1995 or

something. Quirk delivers a funky, dark tune with tribal percussion, but it

doesn't go anywhere... "Channel 59" isn't as terrific as many of the reviews

in the "EPs/Singles" section say. Still good, though... Overall, I'm actually

a bit disappointed, because this compilation isn't even close to the quality

of the first five Destination Goa chapters, even though there are a few

highlights. Average compilation.

I love Quirk. They are one of the best trance acts there is. And this track is

one of the best on this compilation. Cd2 sucks exept the quirk track. Too

commercial sounding

This is one of the best releases from "Why Not/Goldhead" in a couple of years!

I've been following the "Destination" series since the beginning and this album

is one the more outstanding of them all!

I really hope they can deliver a "Destination to Goa 11" that's equally good!

My rating! 9/10

Yes, this is one of the best DG CD:s. The GMS track is a fat and groovy tune,

Teleport 2000 is better than the original and a very very good track, S-range

kixx ass, MFG are quite good (don't so found of their new style but this is

good), Channel 59 is a real dark, minemalistic tune and one of the best here,

AP is a bit cheesy (well very cheesy) but this works fine, Shadow of the beast

is a masterpiece, Chi Ad is Ok but doesn't this sound like Mahadeva? and Hux

Flux is always good. 9/10

Compiled with the best tunes this compilation is one of the best I've ever

heard... Kicks of with the massive GMS track 'on a mission from god', which

really is pumpin' the speakers to the max, really psy with some awesome

effects. MWNN delivers a more calm melodic sequence, 'teleport' is reaching

more to the spiritual side but still has that little psy feel to it. S-Range

makes good use of the progressive beat mixed with some cool effects in 'Serial

Overtypes', and in the end a more melodic sequence starts to emerge. Insect

with 'slammer' could sound a little boring in the beginning, but when the

swinging vibe has kicked in the song will keep on swinging to the end. MFG

with 'welcome to the edge' is quite slow moving, more melodic. Android -

Nitrogen, stays the same throughout the track, with a sort of filtered

melody(don't know exactly how to explain it) which is quite a happy tune, the

background effect is quite cool. Chris Organic and the P of TS with 'single

child syndrome', calm track, nice overall flow. I think I've heard this from

somewhere else, at least that sort of reaching tune kickin' in around 55

seconds into the track, believe it was from a track from the first wipeout

game, not entirely sure but it sounds similar. CD 1 ends with Spacefly which

delivers the more effect rockin' tune 'individual'. I'll give CD 1 9/10. CD 2

kicks of with Nerve, Channel 59 is a more dark tune, progressive. AP gives us

a full length Axis VO.99, nice trance vibe, though I think the melodic part in

the end of the track gets pretty annoying after awhile. Logic Bomb with the

magnificent 'shadow of the beast' is a psychedelic jumpy tune I'd say, the

soft vibe kickin' in 5 minutes into the song is really great. Illumination

brings the more spiritual inspired psychedelic track 'crystals', still this

track is quite calm. Chi-A.D, the best and the furious track on this

compilation, Chi-A.D always go with these massive vibes, like in 'biocandy'

and 'eye am the I'. Pure spiritual psychedelic trance. Quirk brings the funky

tune 'tribodelic', which really got the kicks. Hux Fluxs 'Errorhead' really

keeps the beat pumpin', fast moving, nice bassline. Aeternum and their

'highways of light' constantly reminds me of Chi-A.Ds biocandy... this

scientific talkin', accompanied by some heavy psychedelic beats, which builds

and ends in a massive psychedelic climax. I'm gonna give CD 2 a 9/10, because

it's filled with some of the best tracks yet. DG 10 will get a 9/10, one of

the most outstanding compilations ever to be released.
