Anoebis
V/A - Digital Tribe Artist: Various Title: Digital Tribe Label: Alchemy Date: 2002 Track listing: 01. 7'37" Shift : Impervious to Poison 02. 7'04" Sesto Sento : Boobla Cartoons 03. 5'54" GMS : Cheeseballs Rmx 04. 7'19" Miraculix : Stop Them 05. 6'32" Soundaholix : Drug Frenzy 06. 6'31" Mino : Capsulated Alchemix 07. 8'01" Dark Soho : The 14th 08. 7'16" Groundzero : Digital Plane 09. 7'02" Onyx & Sundance : Burn & Transform Review: Here is the 3d release from Alchemy Records, and I think it's the best so far! It's all modern psychedelic full on music, not really "happy melodic" but with lots of sounds and effects... Sometimes like 3D-vision, sometimes darker... The cd starts with Shift, the first 3 minutes are rather minimal, but then a Gms-like melody comes in which continues the rest of the song (with a long break in it). Number 2 is made by one of the newcomers from Israel, it starts with a terrible sample, but after that we get a powerful song with a somehow commercial sounding melody, not really my cup of tea. The cd continues with a very good gms-song, there is much going on in the Cheeseball remix, much more as in the original... Then Miraculix kicks ass again... I'm really waiting on an album of them, it's typical Miraculix style, many cool effects and some always repeating melodies untill you have a big climax of sound in the end. Soundaholix' (3/4 of GMS) track is rather funky and has typical Zorba-elements, but less melodic. I don't like the Mino track, to linear, not enough changes I think... But no problem... After that we get blown away by Darksoho! They make killer stuff again... in the beggining it's sounds very new wave/electro like, very dark with fat bassline and shhhhhhh-sounds, After 4 minutes we get a break with a gothic-sounding melody, and after that BOOOM, we get those typical Darksoho/Tim Schuldt Industrial sounds and haunting melodies and some violin to make the atmosphere even more gothic! Magnificent song and imo the best they have make (exept the fusion)! After that another song by Darksoho, but tjis time in collaboration with DJ Shane Gobi, it's in the same style but this songs doesn't have the climaxes as "The 14th"... But still is the dark/gothic/electro/new wave atmosphere very much present! The cd ends with a rather melodic track, nice for in the morning. All together this deserves 8/10 with a 10/10 for song 7!! Guest [Anonymous]
What's so terrible about the sample in "Boobla Cartoons"? It says: "Who gives a shit about police brutality". come on...
Guest shamanicki[at]hotmail[dot]com
I think the Dark Soho track sucks, I've seen these guys live and they are good but they shouldn't be so indulgent and release Israeli film music disguised as floor music, isn't it supposed to make you dance?, well, let's be honest, it doesn't.. As for the rest of the CD is well short of a masterpiece! don't be ridiculous.. The GMS track is one of the worse I heard by them. Mino's is a MINUS.. and Miraculix have been given another chance to broadcast their half-cooked silly fodder.. The first track is decent and that is all you can realisticly say about this compilation.

somebody
All Tracks on this compilation is great and I'm not sure about Dark Soho being film music?? OBVIOUSLY someone doesnt really understand the nature of the beast It's music for the mind and body, but if the mind does not get it then the body cant follow, so try to open your shamanicki mind before before your mouth I give the compilation 9/

Guest biox_dh[at]hotmail[dot]com
Very good comp here, track 1 is good Shift is one of the very promising acts, track 2 is a fucking killer the best track for me here, track 3 is a good rmx but nothing speciall, track 4 , 5 & 6 are good tracks but only that, track 7 is another killer here excellent for the night, track 8 is nice and finally track 9 is very good. 8.5/
Gorgonator
This compilation is superb and currently in my top three so far this year, the Dark Soho track is simply awseome. The Mino track is the only clanger but it still gets a firm 9/10 from me.
Guest rexluk[at]hotmail[dot]com
I think the Alchemy releases have overall nicely produced tracks but they come short on inspiration.. this one too, it does the job.. hardly a masterpiece as someone put it.. 6/

Guest g_robins[at]yahoo.co[dot]uk
i followed your discussions with interest, there seems to be a good deal of bigotism in the trance scene.. people getting extremely personal about other people's opinions.. i'm with shamanicki, this is not so hot as you make of it .. 5/
